Bathrooms, Time and You
This article discusses the importance of bathrooms.
I sincerely think that the bathroom is one of the most important places in a house. It is important enough that the state the bathroom is in actually influences its occupant. If items are in their places, items are set up in an organized manner, and the room itself looks pleasing, then that condition may have a fairly positive effect on you, when you get up and begin your day. If however, the bathroom's disorganized, or it looks rather sad, then that might affect you as well, except not in the way you might wish.
The bathroom is significant, for one, because it is one of the first places you see in the morning. Of course, you wake up in a bedroom, but once that's done, where do most persons head after getting up? The bathroom. Perhaps to brush your teeth. Perhaps to shower or do something else. The dining room, the living room, the kitchen area, all these come into play later. After the bathroom.
The bathroom is also important because you use it daily. I mean, it's possible to dine out instead of in the dining room. It's possible to hang out somewhere outside instead of in your living area. You might just buy take away instead of preparing dishes in the kitchen area. However if you are at home, and you have to brush your teeth or bathe, there is no way to have that delivered. You need to use the bathroom. And most people brush their teeth, and shower, everyday. So day in and day out, you're in the bathroom.
Lastly, the bathroom is significant since that is the place where some very important items are put away. Grooming things for example. That's where shaving takes place. That's where brushing of teeth takes place. And maybe that is also where the putting on of make up happens (but that already is beyond merely grooming).
So the bathroom's an important place. You use it everyday. The bathroom is entered almost immediately upon getting up. And the objects stored there are used for important things like shaving and other things persons do to make themselves look and smell great. So since the bathroom is so significant, we really need to give it the time and effort it calls out for.
The thing is that it's actually quite easy to ignore the bathroom. After all, it isn't quite as prominent as the living room or dining area, places where guests are pretty sure to see and hang in, and where they tend to spend a lot of time. Contrast that with the bathroom which guests don't always visit, and even if they do visit it, they don't really stay there for long.
It really is one of those places where it's really the home owners who spend a lot of time there, and end up appreciating most. But again, even if guests aren't in it much, that's no excuse. Work on your bathroom. Don't do it for guests or other people. Do it for yourself. In a way, it becomes one method of pampering yourself.
You won't regret spending the time and effort, because unlike guests, you use the bathroom often, if not daily. It's one way to pamper yourself which will keep in giving back day after day after day. It might not seem like a big deal at first, but I'm sure that as time passes, the efforts taken to make the bathroom more aesthetically pleasing, or the time spent to make the items in the bathroom more organized, and organized in a way which makes a lot of sense, will lead you to conclude that the time and energy were, in the end well spent.
