Barron Hilton Pleads No Contest

Barron Hilton has pleaded no contest to driving under the influence Wednesday stemming from his February arrest.

Hilton, 18, was not in court Wednesday but his attorney Richard Hutton entered a plea of no contest on his behalf. Hilton was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level above the 0.08 percent legal limit and unlawfully possessing a false license. He was originally charged with two other counts of driving under the influence and unlicensed driving, but those charges were reportedly dismissed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner H. Jay Ford sentenced Hilton to three-year’s probation, suspended his license for one year, and ordered him to pay a $2,000 fine. He was also sentenced to a six-month mandatory DUI program, ordered to take a Mothers Against Drunk Driving course, and he must spend time at the Los Angeles County morgue. Recently, Lindsay Lohan was ordered to log time at the county morgue as part of her probation stemming from her drunk driving arrest.

Hilton was arrested early on February 12 after his black Mercedes was seen driving erratically on Pacific Coast Highway. His blood alcohol level was .14 percent. The legal limit for anyone over 21 is .08, but any blood alcohol level is considered legally drunk for anyone under the age of 21. It was also reported that a female was actually driving the car and had sideswiped a truck just moments before the arrest, which lead to Hilton getting behind the wheel. He is due in court on June 4 for a restitution hearing on that matter. At that time, he will reportedly have to provide proof that he enrolled in the alcohol programs. He will also be ordered to pay restitution for the vehicle that was damaged.
