How to Barbeque Baby Back Ribs
When you are making BBQ ribs, you will have to be patient. If you are not patient, chances are high you will either leave the ribs raw or overcook and burn them.
Recipe # 1
With this recipe, we will make barbecue ribs in oven. Not all of us are lucky to have big yards, where you make barbecued baby back ribs. However, with this recipe, there will not be any difference in the taste.
Ingredients
- Baby Back Pork Ribs 2 slabs (approximate weight of each one will be 1 pound)
- Ground Red Chili Pepper 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil 2¼ teaspoons
- Minced Onion ½ cup
- Tomato Paste ½ cup
- White Vinegar ½ cup
- Brown Sugar ½ cup
- Honey 2½ tablespoons
- Worcestershire Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Salt 2 teaspoons
- Coarsely Ground Black Pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Liquid Smoke Flavoring 1¼ teaspoons
- Whiskey 2 teaspoons
- Garlic Powder 2 teaspoons
- Paprika ¼ teaspoon
- Onion Powder ½ teaspoon
- Dark Molasses 1 tablespoon
- Water 1½ cups
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, till you prepare the ribs.
- Carefully cut each of the full ribs into half, so that you will have about 4 half racks of ribs.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon chili powder on the ribs, but the quantity of pepper should be more as compared to salt.
- Then wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and bake them for 2½ hours.
- While the ribs are baking, heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat and add onions.
- Cook the onions for 5 minutes, then add tomato paste, vinegar, brown sugar, honey and Worcestershire sauce to the onions and mix well.
- Then add 2 teaspoons of salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, smoke flavoring, whiskey, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dark molasses, ½ tablespoon ground chili pepper to the onion and stir the seasonings well.
- Let the mixture come to a boil, reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer, till it thickens.
- Preheat the grill, indoor or outdoor, to grill the ribs.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and keep them aside for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Remove the foil from the ribs and place the ribs on the grill.
- Brush the ribs with the sauce and grill the ribs for 4 to 5 minutes on either side.
- Once the ribs are well cooked brush the ribs again.
- If you brush the ribs with the sauce early on in the process of cooking, the sauce will get burnt and the ribs will not be cooked to perfection.
This recipe does not require an elaborate list of ingredients, yet you will be able to make great BBQ ribs.
Ingredients
- Baby Back Pork Ribs 1 package
- Ketchup 1 cup
- Pineapple Juice 1 cup
- Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Worcestershire Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce 2 teaspoons
- Cut the ribs to make a butterfly and line a roasting pan with aluminum foil for the drippings. Read on dry rub for ribs.
- Pour about ½ cup of water in the pan and place the ribs in the pan. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
- Roast the ribs at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour.
- Remove the ribs from the pan and discard the fat.
- In a bowl mix together ketchup, pineapple juice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
- Let the ribs marinate in the sauce for 2 to 3 hours.
- Place the ribs again in the roasting pan and let them bake for 1 hour at 400 degrees Fahrenheit and baste the ribs during the last 15 minutes with the remaining marinade.
- Check if the meat is cooked and the ribs are ready to be served.
