The Bahamas is one of the most visited islands in the entire Caribbean region and this happens because it is very close the the mainland of North America (first Caribbean island which belongs to Bahamas is just at 45 miles distance to Florida!), but also due to the great accommodation offered by hotels in Bahamas. Tourists interested in cultural events can enjoy musical evenings and hear the frenetic rhythms of "junkanoo", "goombay" and "rake 'n' scrape", musical styles evolved of West African dance music brought by slaves to North America. The tropical atmosphere of this islands is also proper for weddings and tourists who want planning a such event or decide instantly to do it have to know that are required a residence for 24 hours prior to applying for a marriage license, birth certificates and a notarized affidavit.
