BAFTA Awards 2011

The red carpet was laid out for the Orange BAFTA Awards 2011, and even though there was a slight continuous drizzle, it did not deter the stars from showing up in their magnificent best. The stage was set for the biggest film awards in Britain, and no one was left disappointed. As per the BAFTA Awards 2011 nominations, the strong contenders were Inception, Black Swan, The Social Network, and The King's Speech. And according to most experts and critics, the real fight was between The King's Speech and The Social Network. But in the end it was The King's Speech that walked away with 7 awards, decimating all opposition, in a way not many expected. This was a film which was all about a friendship that develops between the King, who is in fact a stammerer, and his unorthodox speech therapist. As we can see from the above, The King's Speech was on a roll, though Inception and The Social Network did not fare too badly at the BAFTA Awards 2011. Now all the focus will move onto the Oscar Awards 2011, which will be held in the United States in a couple of weeks time. Stay tuned!
