Backpackers Queenstown New Zealand
Hippo Lodge ‘The Back Packers Choice’
No matter who you are or what you like to do there will be a difference of opinion as to the best place to stay. It will depend on budget, outlook, preferences and likes.
I looked at the comments and feedback Hippo Lodge received in the last two years and the result were nothing short of astounding which was surprising.
Everyone raved about the views! Comments included words like spectacular, fantastic and unforgettable.
Location was another underlying feature for sure. It is close to town and the many walks/hikes/tramps, hot air ballooning, bungy jumping, jet boating, paragliding, hang gliding, rafting, canyoning, riversurfing and other activities are at their doorstep.
Hippo Lodge is a few minutes walk to the restaurants, night clubs and bars. Alternatively you can sit in the lounge overlooking the lights of Queenstown and the magnificent mountains and lake. Guests can book on line, fast, easy and secure. The staff are warm and easy going with an attitude to please. So much for the good points, I did find a few concerns that you may like to be aware of. The main concern guests recorded was the hill. Hippo Lodge is on top of a short track up a hill. Although the hill is not far it’s the steepness that’s the problem. To be fair, others appreciated the exercise and the view made it all worthwhile.Tariffs are very reasonable and you will find a sliding scale of the price depending on the services you want on their website at hippolodge.co.nz. Over all I give Hippo an 8 out of a possible 10. For more information about Hippo Lodge go to their website at hippolodge.co.nz wishing you a very enjoyable stay in Queenstown adventure capital of the world.
