Background Information can Sometime Come at a Premium

Explain the value behind a background check; list what you can look up for free.
One of the first things you probably realized when you tried to run any type of public records search online was that while each site was easy to use, accessing the directory to find the information you were after, wasn’t free. Although there is a valid reason for the charge and it usually is only a nominal fee (a small price to pay for convenience) having to pay every time you want to investigate someone can become quite expensive.

If the idea of paying for such a search is really not something you can afford or is not something you would like to do, you will be happy to know that free background searches do exist on the World Wide Web and they can actually provide you with excellent information that isn’t a waste of time and can help you stay safe.

In order to find the details you want without paying a price, you’ll need to find a website that provides you with resources for the 50 states. This type of search site will give you access to focused information from official government sources of each state. For instance, you can link to their:

- Sex Offender Registry
- Criminal Records (I.E. bureau of investigation)
- Incarceration Records (I.E. department of corrections)
- Court Records (I.E. administrative office of courts)

Being able to search for individuals using your own state’s public data is quite an advantage because you can conduct a more refined search that is closer to home. You don’t have to worry about combing through many results that can occur with general lookups to track down the person you are interested in learning more about.

In addition to researching state-specific crime info, you also have the opportunity to check out the National Sex Offender Registry. All you require is the name of the street, city, state and zip code of importance and you will be provided with all of the offenders in your area.

There are free background checks available to you, so be sure to give them a try. You have nothing to lose and a chance to find answers.
