It's Wednesday. I haven't seen Stella since Sunday.
I go to the same school to her, live right next door, live in the same area... and yet, I haven't seen her in three days. That may not seem like long... but, when you can't stop thinking about that person and have deep feelings for them... it's pretty much complicated.
I felt a sudden vibration in the pocket of my jeans. It was my mobile phone. I grabbed it out and answered it. It was Connor. Shit.
"Hey Connor."
"Hey man. How's it going?" He asked me. How's it going? HOW'S IT GOING? Well. Let's see. I'm in love with your girlfriend, she doesn't feel the same way, I haven't seen her since I confessed my love for her, I've basically lost Stella's friendship with me... again... So, that's how I'm going.
"Good." Was all I could answer. Telling him the truth would be way inappropriate and would make things full of tension and awkwardness.
"Cool. So, I just called to see whether it's confirmed that you're going to the party or not. I don't want to wait for someone who's not coming or not wait for someone that is." Connor explained. It barely processed in my head, but I got it after a while. I sighed.
"I don't know. I've just been going through a lot lately and I'm not really up to it." I said truthfully. I wouldn't tell him why though.
"What? Why didn't you tell me man?" Connor asked, upset.
"You wouldn't understand." I replied. He decided not to question it.
"Well, I'm sorry 'bout that." He apologized. But really, it should have been me apologizing.
"You know what? Maybe it'll fix things. A fun night shouldn't hurt." I said, really meaning it. I mean, there would be many other girls there and maybe I'll meet a nice one. A beautiful, kind, funny, smart, talented, happy, understanding girl. Holy shit. As the descriptions ran across my mind... I couldn't help but think of Stella. They all matched her. My perspective of her. Shit! I slapped my forehead whilst my eyes squinting with regret.
"Whoa, what was that sound?" Connor asked. He must have heard me slap my forehead.
"Nothing." I lied.
"Ok." Connor accepted awkwardly. "Well anyway, I'm glad that you're coming man. I'll see you there." Connor said before we both said our goodbyes and hung up.

"Hey, I know that I said that I would drop the subject... but, when he told you that he was in love with you... did you consider any of it?" Sandy asked quietly. I sighed.
"I did." I replied quietly. She moved up a bit on my bed as she waited for more.
"And?"
"And... It was bliss. We already know heaps of stuff about each other, we have a history, his family likes me, my family likes him, he understands me completely, he's attractive, he's funny, he's smart, he's cool..." I started listing. Sandy smiled widely.
"But," Sandy's smile soon faded into a frown. "I like Connor. And even though we don't have a history or anything... I'm willing to make one." I stated. Sandy smiled lightly and got up from my bed.
"Where are you going?" I asked her curiously.
"I'm getting more ice-cream." She smiled faintly before leaving my room. I sighed and dropped my body backwards onto my bed like as if I got whiplash.
"Why me?" I thought aloud, sad.

I decided to go to the mall to buy some clothes for the party that Connor invited me to. It was quite a long drive... but, I made it there on a reasonable time.
I got out of my car and went through the mall to the stores that I could buy some possible clothes from. I only went to at least two. I was pretty quick.
I got pretty hungry as I hadn't eaten since school. It was definite that I was getting sushi. Sushi's my favorite. I remember Stella and I would always spend time out eating Sushi or we would just go there on each other's birthday parties.
I made my to the sushi store and as I turned around the corner to make it there, I saw... Stella.
Shit.
I went to turn around but I suddenly heard someone call out my name,
"Chad!" I grimaced and then faked a smile as I greeted Connor.
"Hey Connor." I walked towards where he was. He clapped my hand like how guys normally do.
"Long time no see." Connor smirked.
"Yeah, sorry 'bout that." I apologized. I looked at Stella who was standing next to Connor.
"Hey Stella." Was all that I could say. She gave me a light smile as a response. We suddenly heard a phone ringing.
"Oh, sorry... that's me." Connor apologized before fetching it out of his pocket. "It's my mum. Excuse me, I've got to take this." He informed us before leaving. Leaving me with Stella. Just us two.
"What are you doing here?" Stella asked curiously.
"Just clothes shopping. You?" I asked back.
"The same." She said quietly. There was a pretty awkward silence between us before I asked her a question, in hope of starting up a conversation.
"How long have you been here?"
""A really long time actually. You know how girls can be." She shrugged whilst having a little bit of a laugh.
"Yeah... especially you." I joked. She gasped and gave me a light slap on my arm. The jolt happened again. She didn't flinch though, she must've been used to it. We laughed about it and eventually ended with a smile. I stared into her eyes as she did mine. Man she's beautiful. Her eyes looked so innocent and gorgeous. I snapped out of it and asked her,
"So where's Josh?'
"It was a girls day for me and Sandy so he's most likely at his home." She told me.
"So, what about Connor?" I asked whilst pointing at him.
"Oh, he met up with us here." She said. I nodded. I was grateful. I thought that he would've brought her here. Just the thought of them together made me angry.
"Hey, Chad... I know that things aren't exactly... what they're supposed to be at this very moment and that... things have been become awkward between us... but, I would hate to think that you're avoiding me." Stella stated worriedly.
"You're still my best friend. Please don't let that change again." She said pleadingly. I faked a smiled and sighed.
"I wouldn't."

I looked at myself in the mirror for what seemed like the tenth time and made sure that I didn't have anything wrong on me. I didn't see anything... wait! I need more lip gloss! I hurried to my draw and rummaged through looking for it. As soon as I retrieved it I applied it and had a long, last look in the mirror. I smiled. I was ready. I grabbed my purse and my mobile phone and made my way out my room. I went down to the lounge and saw that Connor was already there waiting for me. He was talking with my mum. My dad was at work.
"Hello Connor." I smiled as I was fully in his sight now. He seemed... dumbfounded. Victory, I laughed to myself.
"You look... hot." He admitted. I laughed and then thanked him.
"You yourself look good as well." I complimented back.
"For your entertainment." He winked with a smirk. I turned back and smiled at my mother. I approached her and kissed her on the cheek.
"Thanks mum. I'll see you afterwards." I said with appreciation.
"Remember... you have a curfew." She said to me sternly before glaring at Connor quickly.
"I'll remember." I reassured her. "Before midnight."
"Good. Have a good time." She smiled. Connor said goodbye to her and soon left. I was just about to follow but my mother grabbed my arm making me come to a halt.
"Something wrong?" I asked wondering why she had stopped me.
"I'm not sure I like that Connor boy." She said worriedly. I laughed.
"You'll learn to. It's how I managed."
"He seems very cocky." She said sternly. I didn't blame her. Connor's a sarcastic guy.
"That's just the way he rolls." I shrugged.
"He said you looked hot. Honey, he could've at least found a better adjective." She stated.
"It doesn't concern me. I like Connor. He's got a fun personality." I responded. "Don't worry." I said before kissing her cheek and leaving the house. I got into Connor's car and after beeping goodbye, we left.
