It was yet another school day and I had the fear of seeing Stella and Connor. I won't cope for sure. I can only feel comfortable with Josh. Since he's the only one that knows.
I parked my car at the front of school and decided to stay in the car for a little while. I picked up my car a while ago, I just didn't really use it. Seeing that I couldn't face Stella... I didn't catch the bus.
"Chad?" I was suddenly pulled out of thought as Stella greeted me with a smile. I tried my best to smile back but even I could sense that it seemed fake. She must not have noticed 'cause she just started up a casual conversation.
"So you finally started driving to school again, huh?" She asked. I thought a heard the slightest bit of disappointment in her voice but wasn't sure. Maybe I was just hoping.
"Yeah, I thought it'd be good if I came in my car." Saying that included just the tiniest bit of truth.
"Ok. Well, do you want to walk together?" She asked me. I would have loved to say yes. But somehow, I didn't think it was best. It's not like this wasn't awkward enough, you know?
"Oh, uh... Stella. I think I'm just going to stay back for a little while. So, I won't be walking to class just yet." I told her.
"Ok. Well, I guess I'll see you there." She farewelled awkwardly whilst pointing at the school. She slowly started walking towards the school. I sighed. She suddenly turned around.
"Chad?" She got my attention.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"We're good, right? There's nothing wrong between us?" She asked me whilst fiddling with her hands.
"Course not. Why would there be?" I answered. It was complete rubbish.
"Well, I feel as though things have become awkward between us." She admitted. I didn't blame her. I have been a slack friend.
"Sorry about that." I really was sorry.
"You're not to blame." She said politely. I couldn't help but disagree. "Do you want hang out after school? I'm not doing anything and Sandy and I haven't planned much." She offered.
"What about Connor?" I flinched a little as I asked, but was able to hide it.
"What about Connor?" She copied only this time she was asking me. "So are you up to it?" She asked me. I was still thinking about what she meant by what she asked but accepted her offer.
"Yeah, that would be great."
"Cool. I'll see you around." She smiled and then left. I sighed. How the hell am I going to do this?

"Still a no-show!" Sandy complained about Chad not hanging out with us at lunch. When she said, 'still a no-show'... It reminded me of Bella from Twilight. That was what she had said in the movie. My life sort of related to Twilight. There was secrecy and hard decisions to make. I just wanted to know what the secrecy part was all about though.
"What is up with him these days?" Sandy asked. I looked at Josh who had a strange expression on his face. Like as if he knew something that we didn't.
"Josh? You alright?" I asked him. He quickly rose his head to look at me and smiled.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He replied. I didn't know whether to believe him but I just shrugged it off.
"Him and I are hanging out after school." I told them.
"Really?" They both asked at the same time. Freaky.
"Yeah. Did you guys want to come along?" I offered.
"No!" They both screamed... at the same time? Goodness.
"You should go. Totally. Besides, uh, Sandy and I already planned to uh, study together after school. Yeah, so we wouldn't be able to make it." Josh told me hesitantly. Sandy nodded at everything that he said.
"Ok." I said awkwardly. They both nodded with weird smiles.
"Hey, what about Connor?" Josh asked. I noticed that Sandy gave him a fake smile while her eyes looked pretty evil. Josh looked down at the ground.
"Oh, I don't- I don't think he'll be talking to me for a little while." I informed them. They seemed shocked.
"Why not?" Sandy asked.
"Just a bit of drama, no biggy." I shrugged. I could tell that Sandy wasn't convinced and that I would have to tell her all about it later on. Knowing her.
AFTER SCHOOL

The school bell rang and we were immediately dismissed by the geography teacher. I grabbed all my belongings and stuffed them into my bag. I grabbed my bag and left the classroom. It was the last period so now we could all go home.
I dreaded this moment. I was going to have to hang out with Stella and hide everything that I was hiding. Once again.
"Hey. Didn't see you at lunch. Again." Stella greeted with a sigh.
"Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I got caught up." I lied. I spent nearly the whole lunch time out on the football field just thinking.
"Oh, ok. Hey, I was wondering... can we just go straight from here?" She asked me.
"Yeah, sure. So where do you want to go?" I asked her.
"I honestly don't know." She laughed. She started thinking about where we could go with a determined face.
"I know where." I saved her from having trouble thinking about where to go. She looked at me confusingly with a smile. She was curious about where I had thought of but didn't ask.
The drive was pretty long but thankfully it wasn't silent and awkward. I mean, there were silences... but they only lasted for seven seconds practically.
We finally made it there and she smiled as the car stopped.

He brought me to a beach. It was so beautiful and I couldn't help but smile. We were the only ones there and it was down the bottom of a steep hill so we weren't disturbed by sounds of cars and people going pass so much. We both got out of the car and removed our shoes. We held them of course.
I walked down to the shore and laughed. "This is absolutely amazing!" I spun around with my arms spread out straight and had a huge smile on my face.

Seeing her laugh and smile like that made me stare with a smile as well. Her beauty and happiness in that exact moment made me forget about all the trouble and strife that was occurring in my life currently and made me feel so free. Her beauty is so captivating. I snapped out of my reverie and walked down to her. She stopped in her tracks and looked at me with a smile. Her gorgeous smile.
"How on earth did you find this place?" She asked.
"My parents use to bring Casey and I here as little kids." I told her. She smiled.
"But then things changed, I guess. My mum was busy being a housewife and my dad had to work extra shifts. So, my parents never brought us back. I remembered where it was and come here to relax and forget about whatever problems I'm having." I explained to her. She had an apologetic look on her face.
"Have you been here recently? To forget about any problems?" She asked me. She's clever. I sighed.
"Came here last night." I admitted. She came closer to me and held my hand. It sent a jolt through my body and most likely hers 'cause she flinched a little. She didn't let go though. Neither did I. She sighed.
"Chad. It's great that you have this place to come and release your problems... but, I'm here." She tightened her grip on my hand but it still felt good. "Whatever problems you have, I will always be here and I will support you one hundred and ten percent. I've been with you through thick and thin and I will keep doing so. But I can't help you if you don't let me in." She seemed really upset. I hated seeing her like this. I trust her completely and she had a point. A great one.
"It's saddening to have to even tell you all of this. I'm your best friend." She complained. She let go of my hand and walked away slowly. Her back was faced towards me. I watched her with every step she took. She wasn't that far seeing that she walked slowly. I sighed.
"Fine... Stella. I'm in love with you."
