Even though Casey had become a lawyer last year we were celebrating it now. You see, Casey was extremely busy with other stuff. She was busy filling in applications for law firms and stuff like that. She finished in December. It is now April. Well anyway, here we are. Me and Casey at a new club called Dancing Martini's. I turned eighteen in March. So I'm of right age to be here. We were at a level up top watching the people down below.
"So did you end up calling any of your friends to come?!" Casey yelled over the music.
"Yeah! I called a friend of mine named Connor!" I yelled back.
"Connor?! What happened to Stella?!" She asked in a loud voice.
"I never told you?!" I asked her. She nodded a 'no'. "Stella and I only became friends a while ago! We weren't talking to each other before that for two years!" I explained.
"What?! Why?!" She asked.
"Long story! I'll tell you some other time!" I yelled. I scanned the club with my eyes and looked around at the people dancing and drinking. I looked at the entrance and saw Connor.

"Hey Casey!" I got her attention. I pointed over to the entrance. "That's Connor!"
"Well go and get him!" She nudged me.
"I'll be right back!" I told her before leaving. I walked down the steps and weaved through the intoxicated people dancing.
"Hey Connor!" I called him. He looked my way and smiled. He then started walking through the people as well and made his way over to me.
"Hey! How are you doing man?!" He greeted me with the 'bro hug'.
"Yeah, I'm alright! How about you?!" I asked.
"Well, uh, can we talk about it elsewhere?!" He asked me. I nodded a 'yes' and lead him back up to the level. Casey wasn't there. Probably off talking with some guy. A few probably. Casey's really attractive if I must say so myself. She's blonde, like me, fair, pretty tall, has a croaky-like voice but still very nice and feminine, great style and a huge smile. I don't blame a guy if he wanted to make a move with Casey. That may sound really creepy coming from her little bro... But trust me. If you saw her. You'd know what I mean.
Connor and I both took a seat as soon as we had made it.

"So?! What's up?!" I asked him.
"Well, I don't want you to get mad!" He told me.
"What is it?!"
"Well... last week.... I went out on a date with Stella!" He yelled. My heart stopped and I didn't blink for a really long time.
"What?" I managed to say.
"Yeah...I took her to the movies! I hope you're okay with it!" Connor yelled. He hopes I'm okay with it? Am I okay with it? Well, it's not that I'm in love with her or anything... it's just... When I picture Stella in my head. She's with me. As a friend! I've always thought of her as my Stella. Do you know what I mean? I mean, look at it this way. Have you ever had a friend that was older than you by quite a few years and then later on when you see them later on in life with someone else?... and then it's awkward? Like that. And I know that you can't just label people. Unless of course you want them all to yourselves and you're in a relationship. But that's not the case with me and Stella. It's just that she's my best friend. And I'm not used to her hanging with a guy unless... it's me.

"Hello? Chad?" Connor waved his hand in front of my face to get my attention. I snapped out of it.
"Sorry. I was just in my world. What did you say?" I apologized and then asked him.
"I asked you whether you were okay with me going out on a date with Stella last week!"
"Yeah! It's cool!" I lied. "Hey, I'm just going to go and get some fresh air, ok?!" I informed him before getting up from my seat and leaving. It took me a while to get through the crowd but I eventually made it out and walked pretty far from the club as the music was too loud and was clouding my thoughts. I walked over to a small park. I sat down on one of the swings and lowered my head down onto my lap.
"Chad?" My head quickly rose as I heard a familiar voice.
"Stella?" I asked in shock. "What are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Well my mum's doing some shopping not too far away from here and I thought I would just take a stroll here in the park. What are you doing here?" She asked me.
"I'm celebrating with Casey over at The Dancing Martini's. I just needed to get away for a little while." I explained to her. She nodded slowly.

"Mind if I join you?" She asked as she pointed at the swing next to me.
"No. Of course. Come." I patted the swing next to me. She then walked over to the swing and sat down.
"Connor's at the club too you know?" I told her. "I invited him. I would've invited you, but you're not quite eighteen yet." I informed her. She nodded.
"I understand." She smiled. "So is Casey there?" She asked me.
"Yeah, actually. I know that she'd be really happy to see you." I said.
"Yeah. I haven't seen her in ages!" Stella said with shock, remembering how long ago it was since they last saw each other.
I laughed.
"What?" She asked me. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing. It's just... I think it's really cool how we have a history." I explained to her.
"Yeah, me too." She smiled. "I remember one time where you brought two teddy bears from a store once and named them Chad and Stella. You gave me Chad and you kept Stella." She laughed.

"I still have Stella in my room you know?" I told her. "I'm guessing that you don't have Chad anymore." I chuckled silently.
"Well, actually... I do." She admitted. I looked at her in disbelief.
"Really?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah. It gave me good memories when I needed them most." She confessed.
"So... you weren't exactly over our friendship, were you?" I asked her. She sighed.
"No. I still loved you and missed what we had." She admitted. "Our friendship was beautiful. I won't deny that."
It was pretty silent after that. Until,
"Hey, I know this is going to be really... hard to answer. But, did you ever..." I couldn't finish.
"Did I ever what?" She asked me.
"Nah, you might think it's dumb."
"I won't. Seriously. What is it?" She urged me to continue.
"Did you ever... like me? More than a friend?" I asked awkwardly.

"Well, I-"
"Stella?!" We both were alarmed after hearing this. We both saw Casey walking towards us.
"Casey?!" Stella gasped. They both grinned widely and ran up to each other. They both wrapped their arms around each other and giggled like two little girls in kindergarten.
"I can't believe it's you! You're so much bigger! And so... transformed!" Casey gasped over Stella as she played with her
hair.
"Likewise! You are soooo stunning!" Stella complimented Casey. Casey grinned and thanked her.
"So how are things? What have you been up to lately?" Casey asked Stella.
"Well... I went on a date last week." Stella said with a light smile. Casey gasped.
"I knew it! I just knew you would get together!" She grabbed her wrist and pulled her over to a park bench.

"You did?" Stella asked with shock.
"But of course! Always!" Casey rolled her eyes.
"I'm still here you know?" I waved at them.
"Then come on over!" Casey yelled. I sighed and got off the swing and joined them.
"So? What happened?" Casey asked.
"We went to the movies and saw a comedy and then after that he dropped me off at home." Stella said simply.
"What? No kiss?" Casey asked shocked.
"Um, well. Yeah, I guess so." Stella admitted shyly. My eyes widened. I realized it and looked away. She kissed Connor?
"Stella! Chad! There's no need to be embarrassed! It's me we're talking about!" Casey yelled.

"Yeah, but it is kind of weird when it's your best friend's best friend." Stella stated. Casey gave a look of confusion.
"What do you mean?" Casey asked.
"Well, I dated Chad's best mate Connor." Stella told her.
"Wait... Connor... in the club Connor?" Casey asked in shock.
"Yeah. Wait, why? Who did you think it was?" Stella asked.
"Oh my gosh. I am so sorry! I thought..." Casey covered her mouth with her hand.
"Thought what?" Stella asked her. I paid more attention this time.
"I thought you were talking about you... and Chad." Casey revealed.
"What? No, no, no, no. We're just-" Stella started.
"Friends." I finished off for her. She nodded in agreement.
"I just assumed. Sorry." Casey apologized.
"It's fine. But why would you think that?" Stella asked.

"Come. On. You two were little lovebirds when you were younger! You guys made rings for each other! You told each other that you loved each other! You two were the cutest thing that people had ever seen!" Casey sort of complained. "You can't blame me!" She put her hands up in surrender. Stella and I both stared at each other. We both stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like quite a long time. She quickly snapped out of it and stood up.
"Where are you going?" I asked her.
"I think I better go. My mum might be worried and she'll probably need help with the groceries." She explained to us.
"It was soooo good seeing you again Casey!" She smiled as she bent down and hugged Casey.
"Same here Stella. We should hang out some time." Casey suggested.

"Definitely. I'll make arrangements with you!" Stella yelled as she ran off. "See you Chad! Send my regards to Connor!" She fare-welled. I sat there with the thought of our little 'moment' in my head. I still felt what I was feeling when I came out here.
Confusion.
"What's the matter?" Casey asked me.
"I don't know what to make of Stella and Connor going out. It just feels weird. At first when she told me that they were contacting each other I was mad. And I know that being her best friend, I should be happy for her because she's found love and all... but I'm still lost with how I feel." I explained to Casey. She rolled her eyes.
"Well of course you're going to feel that way!" Casey smiled.
"What do you mean?" I asked her.
"Chad! You're jealous!"
