*Stella

As I walked away I felt guilt and sadness run through my body. I walked down the hall and exited. I then went to a place called the 'nature area.' It's a peaceful area that were surrounded by trees, plants and wooden seats with a cobble stone path. There is also a big, wide, wooden table that I usually come to with Sandy when we need to talk about private things. It's the only area that has to be quiet .. besides the library of course. It's a rule that you have to keep your voice low. Most students didn't like that. I did. It was calming and relaxing. I walked over to the table and placed my bag on top of it. I then hopped on to the table. It was quite tall. I stood up and paced back and forth. My thoughts of Chad and worries were then interrupted.
"Mind if I join?" I turned in surprise to see Connor.

"Hey. Yeah. Sure." I sat down and patted the spot next to me for him to come and sit in it. He then walked over and joined me on the table.
"So what are you doing here exactly?" I asked him.
"Well, I thought that you would have needed a friend. Especially after what just happened with you and Chad." He explained. I was confused.
"H-How did you know about that?" I asked him curiously.
"I was in the class just across yours. I heard the whole thing. Everybody did." He told me. I placed my head in my hands in shame.

"My life is over." I whined. He then laughed. I removed my hands from my face and looked at him laughing. I then lightly punched his shoulder. "It's not funny. People are now going to be constantly reminding me of it." He just laughed even harder.
"Yeah. I think I'll be one of those people." He mocked with a laugh.
"Why thank you. That's just wonderful." I said sarcastically. I then laughed along with him. It was then that it hit me. Didn't Connor have a class to be at?
"Hey, why aren't you in class?" I asked him.
"I thought I already told you?"
"Yeah .. but."
"But what?" He asked.
"You just .. got out of class to come help me?" I questioned.

"Yeah, I guess." He shrugged.
"For me?" I asked for reassurance.
"Yeah." He said. I lightly smiled and reached over and gave him a hug. He was unsure of how to react at first but then hugged me back.
"Thanks. That's really sweet of you Connor." I said as I let go. He smiled.
"It's cool." His way of saying 'you're welcome.'
"Stella?" We both turned around and saw Chad standing not too far away from us. We were both quite alarmed. But I think Chad was more alarmed to see me and Connor hugging. Connor then turned and looked at me.
"I guess I'd better leave. I'll see you in detention?" He smirked. I nodded with a faint smile.
"No. You can stay." Chad said to Connor. Connor then slowly walked back towards me and stood next to me with his arms folded.

"I shouldn't have overreacted. I'm sorry that I snapped at you like that. Stella .. I don't want to go through another argument and ditch through our friendship. It just doesn't feel right." He said meaningfully. I nodded slowly.
"And Connor .." Connor's head rose. "Your friendship with Stella is .. for you. And Stella. I'm sorry that I didn't see it before." He apologized to Connor. Connor then got up and walked over to Chad. He reached out his hand and Chad gladly took it then pulling it together to each other's chests .. you know? Like how the guys do it? I took note of what Connor was doing and walked over to Chad as well.
"It's fine. I'm sorry as well. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that." I apologized.
"It's not your fault." Chad disagreed. He then stepped closer and hugged me. I hugged him back. We then let go.
"So .. looks like we're all going to be seeing each other again in detention." Connor laughed. Both Chad and I then laughed along.
"Looks like it." I agreed.

*Connor

"Wow. Best detention I've ever had." Stella laughed.
"Probably the only detention you've ever had." I mocked her.
"It is." Chad mocked along. Stella then pushed Chad with her shoulder.
"Shut up. Just 'cause you two like to be rebellious." She snapped.
"You know us too well." I smirked.
"Unfortunately." She joked. Chad and I laughed.
"Well, I'll see you guys tomorrow ok?" Chad fare-welled. He had to go a bit earlier than us for a surprise thing that was happening with his family.

"Yeah, sure thing Chad." Stella said whilst me nodding in agreement. We both watched as Chad left. He turned around mid-way and waved at us with a smile. We both waved back. Stella's bus was going to be late. It was announced over the speakers in school. Apparently the bus had popped a wheel on the way to school. The bus driver called the school office to let them know. So I was just going to chill with Stella until her bus came. I have my own ride. I only used Chad's car at the birthday 'cause it was a much better looking car.
"You don't have to stay here and wait with me, you know?" Stella informed me politely.
"I know. But I think I'd rather kick back here with you before I go." I replied. She smiled.
"Thanks. Much appreciated." She thanked me.
"It's cool." I responded. She smiled once more.

"Um, Connor .. I don't think I'll be calling you tonight. It's just that .. after today .. I think it's best if we wait a little while." She explained to me.
"I understand." I said whilst nodding. She had a small sigh of relief. "Then I guess I should've picked a different time." I said.
"A different time for what?" She asked.
"No, I can't tell you."
"Why not?" She questioned argumentatively.
"My mouth is shut." I said whilst miming a zip on my mouth that I was closing.
"Come on. You already started so you might as well finish." She said defensively.
"You sure you want to know?" I asked her.
"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't." She argued quietly.
"Well, I was going to ask you whether .." I hesitated.
"What?" She asked quietly.
"Whether you .."

"Whether I?" She tried to get me to continue.
"Whether you wanted to go out on a date with me on Saturday." I said with as much courage as possible.
"Really?" She asked in disbelief.
"Yeah. But since you said that we should wait a little while. Then .. I guess maybe some other time.
"Well .. Saturday seems long enough." My head pooped up as she said this.
"Really?" I asked her curiously.
"Really." She grinned.
"So is that a yes?" I hoped.
"Yeah. I-I guess it is." Y E S !!
"Cool. Um, well .. where would you want to go?" I asked her.
"Wait, you didn't think about it before asking me?" She laughed.

"Um, not really. I just thought of asking you when we were walking here. And besides, what if I suggest a place that you don't like?" I asked her.
"Likewise !!" She fought. I laughed.
"Um. Ok. Well, how about the movies? Your choice." I suggested.
"And if it's a movie you don't like?" She asked me.
"Well, then .. I guess it'll suck to be me." I grinned. She smiled along.
"The movies it is. And should I choose it when we get there? Or should I look it up first and then call you to let you know what time session it'll be on?" I asked him curiously.
"I think you should look it up first just in case we get there and there will only be crappy movies on." I suggested.
"Cool. It's settled." She agreed with a smile.
"Oh hey, your bus is here." I saw it behind her and pointed at it for her to see.She turned to look at it.
"Well yes it is." She laughed. "I'll see you later." She smiled.
"Tomorrow and Saturday." I smiled.
"Plus all the other school days." She grinned.
"Plus all the other school days." I repeated with a smile.

*Chad

I grabbed the key out of my pocket and opened the door. Apparently we had a family surprise going on or something. My mum rang the school letting them know about it so that they could pass the message on to me. They gave me the message in detention. Man, that was funny. Stella, Connor and I all sat next to each other. It was funny 'cause every time that Mr. Grenery would turn around we'd make funny faces or do inappropriate things. Nothing to do with nudity. Well, anyway .. I walked in to the house and put my bag down near the door.
"Hello? !!" Anyone home?" I called out.
"Sure is." I quickly turned to see Casey.
"Hey !!" I greeted happily as I walked towards her and gave her a big hug. After a while we separated.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be celebrating?" I asked her.
"Oh, trust me. I already did the whole partying thing in Australia with my friends. We went out at least three nights in a row !!" She laughed.
"So you decided to come back to Cali, huh?" I asked with a grin.
"Yeah. I wanted to celebrate with you guys." She smiled.
"Glad you didn't forget to." I chuckled.
"Well, I wasn't exactly going to leave my little baby brother out of the fun !!" She nudged me with her elbow.
"Thanks Case." I smiled. "So .. did mum and dad know you were coming .. or was it planned all along?" I asked her.
"It was planned all along." She admitted.
"Oh well .. get all the surprise to myself." I grinned. "So shouldn't you be resting? Like, aren't you jet lagged?" I asked her.
"Don't worry about it. I had plenty rest before you got home."

"So you seriously had a court case about Cinderella?" I asked Casey in disbelief.
"It's just a practice sort of thing. Like on the movie College Trip. You know how Raven Symone had to defend the big bad wolf whilst Lucas Grabeel, Ryan off high school musical, defended the three little pigs?" I then nodded. "Well, it was like that." She explained.
"So who did you defend?" My dad asked.
"The stepmother and step sisters." She said.
"And did you win?" My dad asked her.
"Dad. Come on. I'm a Massey." She said with pride before laughing. We all laughed along. You see, my dad is also a lawyer. He's a lawyer for people who get divorced. Casey on the other hand works on criminal cases.
"That's my girl." My dad winked at Casey whilst her smiling. We all smiled. I then finished off my meal, thanked everybody for the meal, put my dishes in the sink, rinsed them and then ran up to my bedroom. I grabbed my phone off my table and dialed Stella's number.
"Hello? Stella speaking." She answered nicely.

"Oh hey, thank goodness you picked up." I sighed with relief.
"Uh, is this Chad?" She asked.
"Yeah. Wait, wouldn't you see the caller identification on your phone?" I asked her.
"Well, I haven't exactly put your number back in Chad." She giggled.
"Oh. Right. Well anyway, is this a good time?" I asked her.
"Yeah, sure. Why wouldn't it be?" She asked me.
"Well, I just thought that you and Connor would want to be chatting to each other.
"Oh !! Okay. No .. we dec- you know what? It doesn't matter. How can I help you?" She asked.
"Well, you know how I had to be home straight after school for a family surprise?" I asked her.

"Oh yeah !! How'd that go?" She asked me.
"It went great. Still is. 'Cause guess what?" I smiled.
"What?"
"Casey's here !!" I informed her with joy.
"O H . M Y . G O S H . Are you serious? !!" She gasped. Casey and Stella were extremely close. Sure, Casey was a lot older .. but, Casey always did love having Stella around.
"Yep. She came today. She came so that she could celebrate with us." I told her.
"Wow Chad. That is so great. I'm so happy for you guys. Especially Casey. She's done so well."
"Thanks." I smiled.

*Stella

S A T U R D A Y

"I reckon we should watch the comedy one." I told Connor over the phone.
"Sure thing." Connor said.
"Cool. It says here on the time session sheet that it starts at eight thirty."
"So I guess I'll be picking you up at eight?" Connor suggested.
"I guess so." I smiled.
"Cool. So are your parents cool with it?" He asked me.
"Yeah, they are." I told him.
"Um, so would I have to go through with the whole quick-meeting-with-the-parents thing?" Connor asked worriedly. I laughed.
"No. My parents are going out to a friend's dinner party. They'll be back just a short time after we do. I already talked to them about it." I explained. I thought I heard him sigh with relief, but, wasn't sure.
"So I guess we're good to go." Connor said.
"Yeah, we are." I smiled.

*Connor

E I G H T O ' C L O C K

Well, it wasn't exactly eight o'clock. But, it was close enough. I walked up to the door and knocked.
"Coming !!" I heard from behind the door. It was Stella. I smiled. I then saw her face as she opened the door. And then, eventually .. her whole body. She looked .. beautiful. She had a gray top (the ones that have a slanted bit on one side to show her shoulder) with glitter-like things on it making beautiful shapes and patterns, skinny jeans, brown ugg boots that had the bottom part of the jeans tucked inside of them, a gold heart necklace dangling from her neck, her hair falling perfectly with her wavy-like hair, and most gorgeous feature of all .. her smile.
"Hey. You look really good." She said with her gleaming smile.
"Um, thanks. Uh-you-you uh-you look really good too." I managed to say with a lot of stutter and hesitance. I felt really dumb.

"Thanks. Do you want to come in?" She offered me. "I won't be long. I just need to get my stuff from my room and check a few things." She explained to me.
"Oh, uh .. sure. Thanks." I said as she moved to the side letting me have an entrance to her house. I slowly walked in before she shut the door.
"The lounge room is just over there." She said pointing to her right. "Make yourself at home. There's some magazines on the coffee table, books on the shelf, and there's a tin of my mum's best brownies on the coffee table as well .. just help yourself 'cause there's plenty there and she's going to make more tomorrow I think." She welcomed me.
"Oh ok. Thanks." I said before walking into the lounge and sitting down on their sofa. It was so comfortable. It might sound bad, but I felt like just sitting here, turning on their t.v and eating brownies. It was close enough to a cinema. Plus, we had the house to ourselves. Nobody to walk in front, if we needed to go to the bathroom .. we could pause the movie. But, I still like the idea of the cinema and we already had things planned.
"I'll just be in my room, ok? Be right back." Stella told me.
"Yeah, sure." I nodded. She ran up to her room.

*Stella

Ok. Got my purse. My phone !! I walked over to my computer table and picked it up. I then put my phone in my pocket. I know you're probably thinking .. don't you put that stuff into a handbag? Well, I'm actually not into handbags. I don't know how girls can wear them. Doesn't it get a bit .. too much? Well anyway, I had all my stuff. I then ran downstairs and went outside the back. I put some cat food out for my cat, Zee. Yeah, it might sound a bit funny .. but I happened to like it. I then walked back inside and locked the door. Making my way through to the lounge, I called out,
"I'm ready. How 'bout you?" I heard Connor rise from the couch and come out to where I was.
"Those brownies are soooo good." He sighed with delight. I laughed.
"I know right? So do you want to get going?" I asked him. He smiled and nodded at the same time.
"Cool, let's go."

I thought that movie was hilarious .. how about you?" I laughed.
"Classic." He responded. We just watched Easy A.
"Well, some of the parts anyway." I shrugged. He laughed.
"Yeah. So do you want to head off now?" He asked me.
"Sure." I smiled.

"I had a really great time Connor. Thank you." I smiled.
"Well, there's still something missing from tonight to make it even more great." He said quietly.
"Oh? And what's that?" I giggled. He then leaned in closer to me with his eyes closed and slowly locked his lips on mine. I was quite shocked and didn't know how to react but then I sort of grew into it and closed my eyes as well. I wrapped my arms around his neck slowly. He then put his hands around my waist and kissed me more passionately. I separated from him slowly. We both slowly opened our eyes.
"Am I the only one that feels .. wrong?" I asked worriedly.
"Why would you feel that way?" Connor asked me curiously.
"Well .. I know that Chad said that he's over the whole .. 'us' thing .. but what if he really isn't?" I questioned.

"Stella. Stop worrying about Chad and just think about us for once. I mean .. how do you feel about me?" He asked me.
"I feel great with you Connor .. but, Chad is my best friend."
"He's mine too you know?"
"I know .. but what if he won't-" He pressed his lips against mine again before I could go on. But with a bit more force. It was nice. He quickly let go.
"Look, I know how I feel about you and you just told me how you feel about me. And if Chad has a problem with that then .. tough. I honestly don't care anymore. He's my best friend .. sure .. it's wrong of me to do this to him .. but, shouldn't he care about our happiness too?" Connor said before facing away and looking down.
"He should." I smiled as I turned him around and kissed him once more.
