Eggs (2)
Baking powder (1 teaspoonful)
Milk (1 tablespoonful)
Vanilla extract (½ teaspoonful)
Superfine sugar (4 oz (½ cup))
Butter (6 oz - 1½ sticks)
Pink food coloring
Blue food coloring
A muffin pan (This has to be lined with paper baking cups)

Before beginning the baby shower cake, you would need to check if the butter for the cake is soft because refrigerated butter may prove to be a little difficult to use.
Take a large bowl and mix the butter and the sugar into this. Beat this till the mixture fluffs up. You will need to add the eggs one by one. Beat this well when you add each egg. Once done, the milk and the cornstarch also need to be added to this. Beat the entire mixture for the next 10 minutes. The baking powder and the vanilla extract need to be added to this mixture. Blend well.
Once you are through with this, put around half of this mixture to another bowl. You will need to add the pink food coloring to one bowl and the blue food coloring to the other bowl. This would help the mixture look a definite pink and blue. Ensure you mix this well.
You will need to place a large helping of the pink cake mixture into the paper baking cups. (14 in number) Repeat the same procedure for the blue mixture.
Sprinkle this with some superfine sugar. Bake these in the oven for a duration of 20 minutes at 375°F.
Decorations for the baby shower party can be planned keeping in mind neutral and cool color schemes. Add loads of color and glitter for a happy and fun environment. You can even have a separate gift table. Place all the gifts here and friends and family can have a fun time opening it altogether.
