AXL:: The Blood Prince I
My first seriously written story! Intended to be my first book of a series. Just for fun. Comment me for errors, please. I really want to know what to improve on. :D... Enjoy.
I want to make each part short. You know, for those who hate long pages. But this one has two--the "prologue" and the beginning. Haha xP
PROLOGUE:
My name is Jann. I wonder if you know me. Or have heard of me. Perhaps not. Most likely not.
Creatures call me "Lady Predator". Maybe it’s because I love to eat. Eating’s a favorite for me. I’m a fan of it, and that I won’t deny.
Or maybe it’s because I wipe out those that get in my way. I destroy them. I have to. In order to survive. In order to gain the power I desire. In this world full of the unknown, power is what you need to stay alive. Power is what you need to stay on top of the food chain. Power is what makes you happy. Power is what makes you God.
You’re probably guessing right by now. Somewhat. There are three of us. I know that I am the only woman. But that’s all. Who they are, or where they are, and all those about them I don’t know. Nor do those things matter.
Not anymore, at least.
Ever since I met him, things weren't the same. And they never will be. Ever.

CHAPTER ONE: Life Anew
†† Axl ††
"What?!" I asked her. "Are you serious?? I mean, I just learned how to work this thing today!"
"Trust me, Axl."
"Like, two hours ago!"
"Danger is the fun of it, you know. Go ahead. Try."
"And he’s going way beyond the limit!"
She stared at me and smiled. "Do it."
What the—! She’s out of her mind! Crazy! Does she want me hurt? Or dead? But then…she’ll die, too!
I looked at her. She was just staring at the road in front of us now. She remained calm. Something in the look in those eyes of hers told me it was okay. She’s so brave, I thought. God.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and stepped on it.
The setting sun felt warm on my face. Jann was cold, I could tell. She kept hiding her hands inside the sleeves of the jacket I lent her. I looked outside and stepped out of the car. Wow!
"Not joining me anytime soon?" I called out to her after enjoying a bit of the scenery.
She shook her head. "Pass."
"Come on! It’s such a nice view! Jeez, you’ll miss it! The sun’s almost leaving!"
I heard her chuckle. "You’re acting like a kid, you know? I wonder why." I heard a click. I smiled.
"Hah! I knew you’d join me!"
She shook her head once more. This time she was smiling. The sun was low behind the mountains now, but the rays and the orange clouds were still pretty amazing. I felt light deep within. I wonder if she felt the same.
"Hey, a while back, when you—uhm, dared me to overtake that delivery truck," I said, remembering the fear I felt imagining a huge vehicle crushing me beneath it when I was driving. "You knew, didn’t you?"
"Hmm?" She replied, not even bothering to look at me. "Knew what?"
"Stop acting dumb! You knew I was going to make it! I know you did!"
She tilted her head slightly.
"So how did you?"
Letting out a sigh, she looked at me. "You want to know?" Her eyes were locked into mine. I felt queer for a moment. Still, I wanted to hear what she wanted to say. "Axl, I…"
Silence.
