Axl: The Blood Prince (4)
"Ricard's all nice again. And is acting weird. A crazy guy invites me to his home..." Second part of the second chapter, "Ricard de Nyyde". (I forgot to add that. Pardon this brain of mine.) It looked too long to read, so I added spaces. Hope you enjoy. =D
Those words followed me around the rest of the day, making me drowsy, but at the same time keeping me from remembering my hunger. It was so weird. Even though I’ve seen it, I still couldn’t believe Ricard was that sort of person.
I walked to the parking lot, to the car Jann bought me before she left. I went in, cradled my head on my hands, and thought for a while.
"Sup?"
I jumped. Someone else was in my car! That voice—It was him!
He giggled. "Missed me?"
"How’d you get in?" I asked—panicking.
"I’ll tell you how later. In the meantime," he leaned forward on my seat. "How ‘bout you show me how nice you are and drive me home?"
"No! Get out, Ricard."
"Get out?" He asked, more of confused and surprised than annoyed. "Oh, come on! Please?"
"No."
"Then I’ll drive!" He said, smiling and reaching for the keys. I pushed him back.
"Alright, alright!" I started the car. "Where to?"
He told me where, and pretty soon we were off. It was like driving with a kid in the backseat with him being squirmy and all. But it was nice having someone around. For a "weirdo" like me.
"Are you human, Ax?" He leaned forward once again. "Tell me. It’s ok."
"Hey, that’s insulting!" I screamed jokingly. But it did hurt. I was albino. And was treated like xhit. [Note: Not all albinos are, and should be, treated that way. =) ]
"No, really," he said, his voice becoming stern. "Are you?"
"What’s with you? Of course I am!"
"Oh," He sounded rather disappointed. "Pull over. That’s where I live."
I did and looked around. There were only three to four houses in that block they resided. It looked ghostly if not for the sunlight that penetrated through the pine. Rike stepped out of the car.
"What are you sitting around for? Come on in!" He opened the gate.
I gulped. "No, thanks. I’m fine."
He opened my door and pulled me out. "Just come inside! What, are you scared? Haha."
Having no choice since I think he’ll drag me in no matter what, I surrendered. I felt an unusual cold wind brush against my skin as we walked past the garden. Ricard smiled—not at me, but at the "wind". I gave him a weird look which he returned in response.
"Mom!" He shouted. "He’s here!"
An eerie feeling wrapped me in its arms. My vision darkened and blurred.
Something's wrong.
Get out!
I looked bewildered at the doorknob being locked behind us—on its own. Appearing suddenly in front of me, a figure greeted me with an eerie grin.
"We were expecting you, Axl."
