Awake
Simply some simple words from a simple mind.
I'm awake. It's 2:37 A.M.
Sweat, tears and a tight chest
I haven't heard from you in a while...
What did I do wrong?
I sit up and wipe my face with a sweaty palm
It doesn't matter, my eyes wet my face quickly
I gaze out of my window into the dark street...
Hoping I'd catch a glimpse of you...wishing
I look up and see thick cloud cover
In the back of my mind...
I know I'm the one who caused this storm
The moon is gone now
Moody clouds mask it's glow
It's too dark and I can't stand it
The right side of my bed is cold
The sheets tell a tale of loneliness
Gentle creases write love letters
They torment me ruthlessly, endlessly
I need to shut my mind now
This worrying is making me ill
I dry my face once more
Curl up into a protective ball
And fall back asleep
I'm awake. It's 4:42 A.M.
Sweat, tears and a tight chest
I haven't heard from you in a while...
What did I do wrong?
I sit up and wipe my face with a sweaty palm
It doesn't matter, my eyes wet my face quickly

Hoping I'd catch a glimpse of you...wishing

I'm awake. It's 4:42 A.M.
