Aversion Of This World- Chapter 2

The next few days went by with only a few odd hitches. The new presence was still there and wouldn't go. But on Friday, everything changed.

The last period I had had was English, a subject in which I still ignored Jamie and his annoying leers and started the habit of jumping out of the classroom the second the bell rang.

I walked home, it was pouring down. Huge puddles soaked my feet through, I was blinded by the huge drops going in my eyes. Blinking rapidly, I started to walk faster. That's when I noticed the big black SUV at the top of the hill. I walked past it, it looked suspicious and out of place but with my powers I never was afraid.

Two men in jeans and white t-shirts got out and began walking in the rain just behind me. I crossed the empty road, their footsteps followed. I turned round to confront them and was hit in the stomach, hard. Winded and gasping for breath I quickly retaliated with a knee in one of the men's crotches. It connected and the man doubled over. Meanwhile, however, his partner had grabbed my shoulders and locked my arms behind my back. I twisted around and head butted him, he recovered fast and pretended to smile at an attacker behind me. I looked around ready to kick high but there was no one there. My knees collapsed beneath me, the man had kicked them in the back. I was sprawled on the floor with a dull throbbing pain in my skull. Blood ran over my eye. My arms were yet again yanked behind me.

I normally fight fair, but these two weren't and I was outnumbered so I decided I needed some assistance.

An electrical pulse went through my entire body. The man holding my arms yelped and let go of me, coughing. His comrade then came over to me, he had a gun in his hand. He pointed it directly at my neck.

And fired.

A small tranquilizer needle shot into my jugular. My eyes started to cloud and my legs teetered.

"Sorry, it was the only way..."

"Man she's stronger than they said."

"You can say that again. Though she took a while to use her powers, unusual."

How do they know about magick?
My legs collapsed beneath me.

"Okay let's drag her to the car."

I kicked and screamed, biting on their hands that tried to muffle me. The guy swore and let go. I ran about twenty feet before I collapsed. And then the darkness took me....
