Avalon
A fabled romance.

For I have returned to stake my claim,
As I promised I would a year ago,
Before war took me away from you.
The gods looked down on me with favor,
So as we could once more be together.
So dry your tears my bonny lass,
And climb upon the unicorn's back,
She'll take you to the chanted wood,
Where Pan will play his pipes for you,
And the nymphs will sing you a lullaby,
To help you dry the tears you cry.
Drink nectar from the silver chalice,
Sleep soundly in the White Queens palace,
And let her warm love melt your sins,
And she'll adorn you in white satins,
The bridal gowns of beauty blessed,
And a flowered crown upon your head.
For tomorrow brings our wedding day,
And you know the whispered words to say,
The gods will look down on you with awe,
As the angels walk you to the alter,
The brightest flowers will bloom for you,
And dance on the breeze to a heavenly tune.
So fear thee not my bonny lass,
For we shall climb on Pegasus's back,
And fly away on the wind of change,
And not set down till we reach Avalon,
Where we shall rule as King and Queen,
In a fabled land we'll make our own.
