"King Drake?" The royal midwife called for me. I literally sprinted towards the door. Please be a girl, please be a girl, my heart pleaded. If it were a girl it all balanced out, Daniel, Adham, Belladonna and...hmmm, how's about Night? Quite beautiful. I glanced at the clock, 4:30pm.

Time seamed to slow as I reached the door, please, don't be the Black Dragon.

I walked into the nursing room and strode over to my beautiful wife. She lay smiling at me with tears in her eyes, and gently handed me the baby.

I gazed at my daughter's pretty face, well, pretty wasn't the word to describe 'her', in fact, 'she' looked...well...boyish.

"I'm sorry," My wife smiled, tearily, "It's a boy."

"C'mon." I sighed, pacing outside my wife's room. "C'mon." This was getting more frustrating every ticking second! I wanted to tear my hair out (if only I had any!). More of my wife's screaming cries. More agitating noises coming from the room.

I stopped and glanced at the clock, 4:20am. Oh, I could just as well die. I feel useless!

"Father, Can you read to me?" My young son said. He was only five, he couldn't understand. He was the White Dragon. Young but powerful. Please don't be the Phoenix. If the Phoenix is born, so is the Black Dragon.

"Not now, my son." I sighed as his face dropped, "Maybe later." His face lit up once more and he bounded down the corridors on his new tiger.

"Sire?"

I ran before another word was said and dashed into my Queen's room. There she lay, pale and quivering. At death's door and in her arm's she may have been carrying another heir to my throne.

I rushed forwards and knelt over the bed, gazing at my new son. "Honey, he's gorgeous." I grinned, stroking his face, yet 'he' did not appear to look hard or cry when I held her, in fact 'he' was gentle. A quality only possessed by a...girl?

"I'm sorry." She burst out into tears, "It's a girl." My hands fell limp by my side, letting go of the child in the process. My wife let out a scream and we both watched in horror as my youngest daughter fell towards the floor, but instead of hearing cries we heard giggles.

My wife peered down at her in shock, "What is she?"

"What are you doing?!" My wife and everybody else in the room cried as I climbed onto the window sill with my new son. I stood as tall as I could and with my outstretched hands, I dropped my child. Please die, please die, please don't be the Black Dragon, please. Screams could be heard all around me but soon turned to silence.

I prised my eyes open, just in time for my son to come flying past me and around the room.

I jumped down in despair. Why? Why?

"What is my son, Drake?" My wife sobbed to me, as a nurse caught him and handed him back to her "What exactly is he?"

"My darling." I smiled tearily at my Queen, "Our daughter is the Phoenix, and the Dark King, his son is the Black Dragon."
