Audrey (1)
Audrey is just a normal teenage girl who sometimes gets discouraged when it comes to love because of her parents divorce...(this first chapter is a little boring but it will get better...I had to do an introduction) COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED! THANK YOU.

"Yes mom…what do you want?!" I scream down to her
"Don’t talk to me…that…know…get…" she says thinking I can hear her scream a whole paragraph from my room.
I decided it would be best to just go down there and see what she wanted. When I went into the kitchen I saw my mom cleaning the sink. Oh my god all she does is clean when she is nervous and she has been cleaning for the past three days!
"What mom?" I ask a little bit annoyed. I mean she did wake me from an awesome dream I was having…
"Excuse me?" she turns around to ask
"What do you want? I couldn’t hear you …what did you scream to me before"
"Ok Audrey first of all when your mother is screaming upstairs to you about something you shouldn’t answer with a ‘what do you want’. When I call you, you come down here young lady. I was also complaining about how we need to get those gosh darn intercoms working again. This house is too big for my little voice" she scolds me
"Mom I am sorry ok…what’s up?" I ask as I sit down at the table. My mom soon follows and takes the seat across from me
"Well…your dad called and he wants to take you this weekend"
"Ugh…he probably has a new girlfriend or something" I say bored
"Whoa shocker!" says my mom
"Big time…like why does he torture me like this. I don’t mind that he dates and all but why drag me into it when most of the time they don’t work out. I mean he has a new flavor every week" I say
"Honey, you are his daughter and he is just trying to include you in his life…well good luck with that" my mom says sarcastically
My mom, despite being somewhat strict, is really cool. She isn’t so much my mom as she is my best friend. I talk to her about everything and all we do is gossip. The people in our family refer to us as the gossip queens. That is why they don’t tell us anything. Together we can make our own tabloid. My parents got divorced when I was 8 years old. I didn’t really know what was happening at the time so a few years ago I was sad when it actually hit me that they weren’t together anymore and that they had moved on. My mom has a boyfriend now. They have been together for about 5 years. He has also been divorced so they both do not want to get married again…I have a feeling they will be together for a while. Thank God. She is the only normal parent in my life. My dad on the other hand has a new girl every freaking week! Okay let’s not exaggerate. It’s more like every couple of months…but still come on settle down already dad. I just hope I take after my mom in the dating area and settle down …my dad isn’t setting such a good example for me. My name is rare…Audrey…my mom named me that because she had this huge obsession with Audrey Hepburn…weird, But I do love my name : )
"Hey daddy" I say as I am talking on the phone to him
"Audrey, honey, how are you? You coming down this weekend? There is someone special I want you to meet"
He always says that when there’s a new…girlfriend. Like how special are these women. Not so much when he dumps them!
"Yes I will be there…four o’clock sharp…tomorrow"
"Tomorrow? Oh honey its Friday I was hoping you would come tonight…for dinner" says my dad
I felt bad and I had no plans so I said "okay if that would be better for you"
"Thanks sweetie, you’re the best"
"I know" I say and go get ready for the weekend
Both of my parents have money. My mom was smart enough to find a job that can support her in case anything like a divorce would happen. Oh and that did happen. She is a nurse…head of the department. My dad works in Manhattan. He is the CEO of a major advertising company. I have two of everything. Two huge houses, two huge bedrooms, two sets of different clothes…yay… and much more. I guess having divorced parents isn’t so bad.
I finish packing and go downstairs to say goodbye to my mom. It was already five and my dad was expecting me by 6 so I better get going. My mom and I live in Long Island and my dad does too but he lives on the other side, closer to Manhattan, so it takes a while to drive there. I do drive because I am seventeen. I actually just got my license a couple of months ago and my dad bought me a BMW convertible…but I don’t care what I drive as long as I don’t have to walk.
"Bye mommy…I will call you tonight with all the details" I say and smile
"You better…what is this girlfriend #8?" she asks
"Your guess is as good as mine…" I say and laugh
"Bye Audrey, have a good time…at least try to ok" she says and hugs me
I always hated leaving my mom but I also liked going to my dads. As much as a sleaze ball I think he is, I am still his only child and his little girl and in my eyes he still is just my dad who loves me.
When I pulled up to my father’s house I noticed a red corvette parked in the driveway. My dad drives a hummer truck which was also there but who the hell does this lady think she is? Driving a corvette. Crazy
I get my things out of the trunk and I walk into the house. I always just walk into my dads house…it is mine too. My dad greets me first
"Hi Audrey" he says and gives me a hug. That’s one thing I cannot live without…a hug from my daddy
"Hi daddy. I’ve missed you; I haven’t been here in two weeks. How’s my puppy-poo" I say as I bend down to pet my tea-cup yorkie dog.
I hear a woman giggle and when I look up there she is. I was picturing in my mind when I first saw her car a hot young supermodel that wore skimpy outfits and had all this fancy jewelry…that’s how most of his women are. Ugh! But to my surprise this one looked quite normal. She was a petite woman…with brown hair down to her shoulders and she had a nice figure and beautiful eyes. She was pretty and she did look my dad’s age. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a sweat jacket. This is odd
"Audrey, this is Tina." My dad says as he introduces me to the woman
"Hey Tina. It is so nice to meet you. I’m Audrey…I am seventeen and still a teenager so don’t get nervous when I have mood swings…its normal" I say and shake her hand…she laughs.
"It is nice to meet you also. And please don’t worry I have two of my own. You have a lovely name" she says
"Oh thank you…" I say and smile "It’s good to know you have some experience with my type then" I say and we laugh
"She is so cute" Tina says to my father
"That’s my little girl"
"Excuse me for a second…I will be right back daddy I want to go say hi to Amber…ten minutes…I swear I will be back for dinner" I say. He nods and I head for the front door. Amber has been my best friend since I met her when I was 8. The year of the divorce. She lives across the street. Amber and I are total opposites. Even though she is heavy set she does have a pretty face and her personality is great. I feel she is jealous of me at times because every second we are together at least one boy looks our way, but she knows he isn’t looking at her.
"Audrey! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming!" she exclaims when she opens her front door
"Surprise!" I say and hug her
