It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, symbolizing his eternal love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The man-made marvelous work was started in 1631 A.D and completed in 1654 AD. Each corner of the Mahal depicts the fine blend of Indian and Persian architecture, dotted with the flowery motifs, semi-precious stone and finely cut white marbles.
Fatehpur Sikri: Built between 1571 to1585, this ultimate Mughal architectural monument is said to the copied design of the mosque in Mecca. The prime attraction of Fathepur Sikri is Diwan-I-Am or the Hall Of Public Audience, Diwan-khana-I-khaas or Hall Of Private Audience, Turkish Sultana’s house, Daulat Khana-I-Khas or the Akbar's Private Chamber, Panch Mahal and the largest Jama Masjid
Agra Fort: Also know as Lal Qila, the Agra Fort is just 2.5 km north-west of the Taj Mahal. The Fort complex contains two beautiful mosque- Nagina Masjid and Mina Masjid, four mesmerizing palaces- Macchi Bhavan, Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal, Shah Jahani Mahal and the entertaining Zenana Mina Bazaar.
Itmud-Ud-Daulah Tomb: Built in exquisitely carved floral patterns, the Itmud-Ud-Daulah is one of the first tomb built entirely of white marbles. The architectural work of this edifice represents the Islamic touch with local influence. A closed kiosk on top of this building and the chhatris atop the four minarets proves the said statement.
Rambagh Graden: Pleasure and comfort of the bygone Mughal Emperors are well highlighted in the beautiful Rambagh Graden. It is situated 3 km from Itmud-Ud-Daulah tomb and represent the greenery of the blooming flowers in Agra. Also called as the paradise on the city, this place is a must visit center around Taj Mahal.
