It has been rumored that singer Ashlee Simpson is expecting her first child with fiancé Pete Wentz.

A source close to Simpson has revealed that the singer is expecting a baby in the fall. The source said, "It’s very early." And added that Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, have already told their families about the baby. Simpson and Wentz just announced their engagement last week. Wentz has flat out denied the rumors in an email to MTV News. In the email he reportedly writes, "There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover." Wentz added, "I mean really, this is crazy… I mean we’re engaged, that’s true, and happy about it."

Simpson taped an episode of TRL Tuesday in New York and when asked about the pregnancy rumors said, "I just think it’s an inappropriate question to ask any woman. For me, that’s something that I didn’t ever want to respond to, because I think it’s an inappropriate question." She added, "Some things, you want to keep personal, and I think that when people deny [pregnancy reports], it’s probably because it’s something they want to keep personal." So…is she or isn’t she? Seems no one but Pete Wentz is really saying anything…

Simpson is promoting her latest album Bittersweet World which features the song "Little Miss Obsessive." The album is set to drop on April 22 and it has been reported that she is going to perform on Friday’s Today show. Simpson and Wentz announced their engagement the same week that his band Fall Out Boy’s latest album, Live in Phoenix, was released.
