You held me and broke me
Threw me around
Held my head high
And brought me to the ground

Kissed my lips
Grabbed my wrists
Pulled me through
The ups and downs

Danced me around
Like daddy always did
Pulled me up
Pushed me down

Held my hips
Drank some gin
Now were on the floor again

Wiped my tears
Left a bruise
Embraced me through the years

How I wished I'd run away
From all the love
And all the hate

You left me to believe
Love was true
When all you showed

As I stab my shovel to dirt
I realize all the hurt
