Article Marketing - The Right Way and Wrong Way

There is more to article marketing than just writing an article and submitting it to an article directory.
Article marketing when done the right way can create a following of readers and that leads to more traffic on the website where the particular product or service is offered for sale. That is the basis of article marketing.

But like anything else there is a right way, and a wrong way to accomplish this. The first thing you should do is make sure that your articles are well written and written in such a way that they relay the necessary information to the reader. The wrong way is to write articles that are filled with spelling and grammar errors. As well as articles that are filled with a long sales pitch, or wording referred to as filler or fluff. It can not be stressed enough that the articles which will do the best are ones with titles that grab the readers attention and that have interesting content in the article body. One of the main reasons for submitting articles is not only to increase traffic directly but also to generate back links.

Articles should be written in a way that they contain keywords that pertain to the information and the product that will be offered on the website. Not having the proper keywords and SEO in the article can keep it from being found when someone searches for the type of information the article contains.

When the well-written article is ready to submit, there is also a right way to do this and a wrong way. The right way is to choose the correct category; it can be a complete waste of an article no matter how well it is written if it is not placed in the correct category and to add the correct tags. Always double check to be sure you have placed the article in the correct category.

Concentrate on the resource box, this is as important as the article itself because it is used to generate traffic to the site. This is your call to action. You have given the reader the information they were looking for in the article body, now you want them to click on your website links. This means the information in the resource box should compel the reader to click on the link. Don't go overboard with a long drawn out sales pitch or use a lot of exclamation marks or other attention getting devices. People sometimes just want information without feeling like they are about to be force fed something they don't want.

One mistake that many website owners make when they are involved in article marketing is to think that a small amount of articles will be enough to drive large amounts of traffic to their website. This is not the case. A great article marketing campaign means you will have to write many articles in order to increase traffic to your website. The general rule is the more articles the more traffic, even 25 articles is not necessarily enough. When a website has many quality articles linking to it, there is usually continuous traffic to the site and there are also many backlinks to help drive more traffic to the website.
