Arsenal and Liverpool to Face off This Sunday
Two clubs of the (now perhaps defunct) top 4 to collide this weekend...

It remains to be seen whether this match has any impact on the title race. Liverpool (regrettably for this writer, who happens to be a Liverpool fan) are all but out of the title race, trailing 12 points behind the league leaders Chelsea already, while Arsenal are suffering from what is popularly known as the 'December Syndrome', where the otherwise world-beating form of Arsenal starts flagging.
But the way things stand as of now, the Gunners seem to be in a much better position than Liverpool to get back into the title race, but with Robin Van Persie out for the rest of the season and Nicklas Bendtner injured, Arsenal will have to bring in some serious reinforcement, along with fighting out Barcelona's and Real Madrid's vulture-like hovering over their captain, Cesc Fabregas.
Liverpool on the other hand seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel with most players coming back from injury. Fernando Torres will most probably make an appearance at Anfield on Sunday which could make all the difference. Rafa Benitez has handled his recent signing Alberto Aquilani with kid gloves till now, but he looks more than likely to start this game which more than the title race, is a brave attempt to save face post the home defeat to Fiorentina in the mid-week. Aquilani, who was on the losing side when the two sides last met at the Emirates in the Carling Cup clash, has been impressive in all his appearances but will be eager to make this one count.
If I were to choose the two teams, I'd choose thus.
Arsenal (4-3-2-1): Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Traore, Denilson, Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Walcott, Arshavin.
Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Aquilani, Mascherano, Benayoun, Gerrard, Aurelio, Torres.
It's a weakened Arsenal vs a convalescing Liverpool this Sunday folks. Never mind being realistic. My heart says 2-1 to Liverpool.
