"Are You Looking?"

A woman held prisoner by her own fears.
"Are You Looking?"
She peers out the window and looks
to see if anyone will notice her.
She prays no one will see her tears.
She hasn't dressed in so long.
She softly whispers, "Can they see me?"

Alone she feels, yet she cannot see their
eyes as they stare back in disbelief.
She cannot hear their ridicule.
They see a woman that has no Soul.
They see a woman that has no Heart.
They see a woman that has no Mouth.
She screams and they cannot hear.

Her eyes cry as she looks at all the pain
in this world. As she stands before them
bleeding, they look right through her.
They never ask, for she doesn't talk. They
never touch, for she doesn't feel. Invisible
to them for they only see a shell of a Soul.

A woman wanting to have them in her life,
yet they will not allow her.
Is she really standing there?
Maybe and only simply, a pane of glass,
as it displays the inner desires of themselves
and this lonely woman, prisoner to her fears?
