It’s hard enough to succeed, and if you get bogged down in how much you’re not making, you will develop a defeatist attitude. This is not a race. Everyone progresses at their own pace, so, you would be better served to compare yourself to yourself. As long as you are learning some practical strategies about affiliate marketing, you will move forward.

Thirdly, you must develop an owner type of mentality. If you’re anything like me, I was an employee of someone else’s my entire life (over 30 years), before I started working for myself as an online marketer. I was used to following the guidelines of the job I was assigned. In this business, you set the parameters, and you set the pace. It’s difficult in the beginning, but you can develop this business sense, as well as the dedication and the structure that it takes to succeed.

The fourth thing really envelops the other three, and will actually lay the groundwork for everything else you choose to do. It’s called education and research. I can’t believe I made the same mistake that I see everyone else make. Why did I think that this business would be any different than opening up a restaurant? Just because I wasn’t putting out a lot of money in the beginning, doesn’t mean that this is any less of an investment. The ultimate goal is success, and to succeed out here takes a lot of know-how. Especially in this down economy where so many people are flocking to the internet to make some "easy money", the competition is fierce.
