Are You a Holy Christian?
Christianity is largely spread in the world today, yet Jesus warns that not the ones (Christians) who call His name will inherit His Kingdom, but only those (Christians) who fulfill the will of God, which means to live a holy life.
Even if there is so much sin in the world today, even among the ones called the followers of Christ, namely Christians, God specifically tells us that no one who lives in sin will enter His Kingdom. Salvation and eternal life is possible only through Jesus, the Son of God and although He loves us more than anyone can ever love us, He will not take in His Heaven anyone who lives in sin.
Even though there is no sinless person on this planet – that’s because we’re born with a sinful nature – the difference between willingly committing sin and committing sin accidentally is huge. It is like the difference between a pig that loves "bathing" in the mud and it will go back every time the occasion comes up, and a sheep which by accident has fallen in mud, but it will not go there again. The sheep can’t wait to get clean again, while the pig loves it and will go back to his mud anytime.
In our lives as Christians, once God took us out of the world (spiritually speaking) and gave us heavenly citizenship, God is constantly preoccupied to take the world out of our hearts. That’s a lifelong process! It is not easy, and Jesus didn’t promise a flowered pathway to Heaven for all His followers! But He promised He’d be there every step of the way!
Sometimes you just can’t help yourself getting out of a certain sinful pattern in your life, it seems that regardless of how much you try, you just can’t stop yourself from getting back to it, doing it all over again. Indeed there are situations that cannot be handled with our own will, for instance drugs, alcohol or other kind of things, whatever those maybe. It is not only drugs that can destroy a person’s life! Hate or ignorance can do the same!
If you are in a place where you hate your sin do but can’t get rid of it, don’t let yourself driven by the thought that you’ll never be able to escape. That’s what our enemy, Satan, wants us to think! God sees that you can’t do it and most of the times, God will allow a situation where you see that your own strength is useless, for an exact reason: to bring you to the point where you trust God completely and realize that your own straight is zero.
I don’t know about you, but I have been in situations where I said "Lord, if you don’t do something now, I’m lost…", and it was then when I realized that I have trusted my own strength…even if for a small percentage. God had to let me see that I actually still trusted my own power although I was saying that I trust God. Oh but, let me tell you, He came when I called Him in my despair! This is the truth! He simply took my heart in His hands and proved to me once more that His hand is not too short to pull me up from the deepest valley! Oh, I am so grateful! Thank you God!
That’s why be encouraged, don’t settle for less than God has for you, God sees what you battle against, it might be an old pain, maybe you lost someone dear and no one understands you, maybe a spiritual battle that you keep losing, there are so many situations, yet God knows them all, and He will answer when you call! He answered me! I can hardly believe it to this day…but He did! But He had to let me there so that I could see His answer for real, not only from theory.
I will add there a list to check your life, to see if you as a Christian don’t have these sins in your life. If you do, ask God for help, wake up and realize what the Bible says about it.
"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:19-21
Apostle Paul emphasizes the sexual sin: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."1 Corinthians 6:18
Your heart as a Christian has to be filled with these fruits, the fruits of the Holy Spirit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22
