Are All Skin Products Beautiful?
The author discusses different products used on the skin and their constant claims of "beauty."
I am a man. I consider myself to be a beautiful man. But, every time I see a product out there that I apply to my skin, I am reminded that there is something "beautiful" about it.
I just took a shower, and used a product that was using the tagline "for beautiful skin."
I took my daily anti-aging capsule and saw "beautification" written on the label of the product.
I saw an ad on tv for "beautiful skin" that was being marketed as part of an anti-aging wrinkle cream.
I ask myself, why is everything about being beautiful? What has this world come to where everything has to be about beauty? Why can't we just be who we are and accept it? I mean, everywhere I look, everywhere I use a product, it's all about beauty.
I agree that it wouldn't be easy to sell a product to consumers if the company marketing it says "this makes you ugly." But, nobody would ever do that. So, instead, these companies write "Beautiful, Gorgeous," and other buzzwords people want to hear all over their product.
Frankly, I think it's just disgusting. Many people feel that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and they avoid these products due to the use of the word. I am not one of those people but I do feel that it is just a stupid marketing word. Beauty. I mean, what does it mean? Does it mean you will look like a supermodel? Does it mean you will have people calling you beautiful if you use it? It's just confusing and not a necessary marketing word.
Sorry to rant, but I'm closing this article and listening to the radio. Snoop Dogg just sang the chorus of "I'm beautiful." I just can't get away from this word!
