Here's what I have to say on applying eyeshadow to deep set eyes. Before you proceed, see how to apply eye shadow.

Applying Eyeshadow to Deep Set Eyes
As for the steps for applying eyeshadow, the first thing to do while applying eyeshadow to deep set eyes is of course the selection of the right colors. Since you have hooded eyes, you will have to downplay your eyes a bit. So choose a neutral brown eyeshadow or any light color that you want. But whichever color you choose, select the one that compliments your skin tone.

Take a brush and apply a bit of light shimmer. Now apply the light brown eyeshadow on the lower eyelid. Extend the line a little upward. Before applying the shadow, remember to tap the brush to shake off any excess shadow that the brush might hold. With an eye shadow sponge, apply a small amount of the eye shadow on the corners of the eye.

Finish your eye makeup by using a light or a medium shade on the brows. Since deep hooded eyes also have prominent eyebrows you will also need to give it a neutral look.

Applying Eyeshadow to Hooded Deep Set Eyes
The same steps are applicable for applying eyeshadow to hooded eyes. Deep set and hooded eyes have almost the same bone structure. But the tone that you will be using should be a little darker. Use a concealer as a base but the color should be nearest to your skin tone. Or you can also apply an eyeshadow that is of a color similar to that of your skin. Use a medium tone starting from the outer corner to the inner corner of your eye. Define your eyes with a darker tone eyeshadow and move towards the outer corner. Using a concealer which is closest to your skin tone, you can conceal the dark circles (In case you have them!). For the upper lid, use a deeper tone of the shadow and extend it to the brow bone. Now mix the same color with a lighter tone for the lower lid. Use soft strokes so that you don't end up looking like a dark eyed raccoon. Finish your eye make up with mascara.

For hooded eyes, outline using a darker tone on the outside of your iris. Then, apply eyeshadow of a color that is close to the color of your skin, all over your eye lid and brow bone. Where the natural crease would normally be, apply a medium tone from the outer corner to the inner corner of your eye. To define, use a darker tone with an eyepencil. Then sweep upward at the outer corner.

Now applying eyeshadow to small eyes is no different; the golden rule is to use lighter colors. Light colors tend to make your eyes look bigger, whereas with darker colors, it is just the opposite. Smaller eyes have a limited lid area. So there's quite some work to be done. Start by firming your eyebrows so that you can work on enhancing the look of your small eyes.
