Anxiety treatment the herbal way

Finding out a practical cure for the problem, is an action part of the whole exercise. While anxiety relief is possible by resorting to drugs, medication and psycho counseling, the role of natural anxiety relief measures such as herbal remedies, cognitive therapy and self help cannot be simply overlooked.
Lets start with a story you might find familiar. Some months ago now my wife started to complain how suddenly she felt her face would become red. One look at her confirmed "yes, your face is very red". The look was red cheeks, neck and chest.

Some time passed by, within weeks, the same symptom continued to present itself before suddenly her heart started racing, panic, feeling generally unwell having to sit down and then to the point that she was convinced something was seriously wrong that Ambulance was called. At the hospital all the nurses said, "it's Anxiety, your just having an attack". The treating doctor said the same thing and so it was off to the family doctor who performed blood tests, urine tests with full work ups that returned no sinister results.

The next stage was to treat an exceptionally high blood pressure reading with Blood Pressure tablets with a small dose of calmative to calm the nerves.

The attacks became more frequent and severe while presenting different symptoms - heart racing - dangerously high blood pressure - head felt like it was going to explode - sick in the stomach - blurred vision - high temperature - dry mouth - numb hands - symptoms enough to call an Ambulance for fear of a stroke or heart attack. The doctors said the blood pressure has to be controlled and its still anxiety. So off to another doctor where the medication was changed and a specialist appointment was made.

In the meantime, where could we go to find out simple straight forward information on how to recognize, deal with and treat anxiety. This is especially important for a person who has never suffered anxiety in their life, demonstrated rational thought through tough times and generally feel happy within themselves. It is a very troubling time to be standing in your kitchen at 2.00am totally freaking out and not being able to control your feelings that seems to last for hours.

There needs to be a place where we can come to and learn about this condition, what are the symptoms, what to expect when taking medication, how to identify the onset of an episode and are there any treatments besides going down the prescribed prescription drug route such as a anxiety natural remedies and treatments along the lines of herbal remedies.
