Another Beauty and The Beast Story: Chapter Two

"He basically kidnapped my dad and now I can't leave his home", I said quietly. "When you get to know him you'll realize what a gentleman he is", the younger one said. She put the brush back in her apron and they both led me out, grabbing a candle from my nightstand.
I know it's been forever, but I thought I'd still give it a go and post another chapter. Hope you enjoy!

I think I was in this room for hours before the door finally opened. Two women walked in, both in their maid outfits and holding candles. They both gave me warm smiles but I didn't smile back.

"We're here to show you to your room", one of them said.

"My room?" I was surprised at how faltered I sounded. I've been crying, that's all I've been doing.

"Well of course. We're not going to leave you in here to sleep on the floor. Our master would never allow that."

I followed them out, my legs feeling a bit weak. "You call him master?"

"Of course we do, he is our master."

We walked up the stairs and I was relieved to be out of the basement. All the windows were covered though, so I couldn't tell
what time it was. We walked up the next case of stairs that led to a long large hallway. All the doors we passed were rich wood. We stopped about ten doors down and one of the maids opened the door.

When we entered the room I was shocked at how big it was. It was probably as big as my room times ten, if not more. There was a large king sized bed in the middle with peach colored covers. The closet doors were mirrors that were probably as long as half the room. My favorite part was the round window seat at the side of the room, letting the moon light in.

"I don't understand", I choked. "This isn't how you treat a prisoner."

"He doesn't see you that way. You may use all the clothing in the closet. Everything in this room is yours. The bathroom is over there. We'll leave to get comfortable."

The maids left the candles on a nightstand and walked out, leaving me confused. I walked over to the bathroom and switched the light on. This bathroom was twice as big as my room. I stared at myself in the mirror for a second and realized I was a mess. "Well, I could use a shower", I muttered.

I stayed in the shower for about an hour, never having a more soothing moment in my life. It was like sitting in a warm pool of water while it rained. I grabbed a robe I found in the bathroom closet. I walked out of the bathroom and started looking through the huge closet, and to my surprise it was mostly just dresses. I grabbed a nightgown and slipped it on. Just on my way to bed there was a knock on my door and I froze.

"Who is it?"

"It's me." Everything came back to me when I heard his voice. I was starting to feel better, but then he had to ruin it. "I was wondering if you would join me for dinner."

Was he joking? "No, I'm not hungry."

There was silence for a moment. "What do you mean you're not hungry? You haven't eaten so you must be hungry." He sounded a bit frustrated now.

"I'm going to bed", I snapped.

He opened the door and took a step in. "You are joining me", he ordered. "Now get dressed."

I sat down on my bed and just stared at the ground. "I don't have to say yes to your invitations. I'm only here to work, remember?"

"And your job is to join me. I'll be waiting in the dining room. The maids will be here shortly to show you the way." He walked out and shut the door closed.

I rubbed my tears away furiously. I pulled the closet door open and grabbed a random dress. I slipped it on and just glanced at myself in the mirror before sitting back down on my bed. It was a simple summer light blue dress that ended a bit below my knees, probably a bad choice for the winter. There was a blue ribbon that went around my waist that tied around my back, though I didn't try to tie it.

There was a knock on the door making me jump. "Come in", I said.

The same two maids walked in with their warm smiles. "Are you ready, miss?"

"I never will be ready", I muttered. I stood up and walked over to them but they both turned me toward the mirror all of a sudden as one tied my ribbon and the other took out a brush out of her apron and brushed my hair.

"You are very beautiful", one of them said, the youngest. From my perspective they looked like a mother and a daughter, but I could be wrong.

"I didn't exactly want to look beautiful", I said, staring at myself. I watched as the young one brushed my long black hair, curly waves forming.

"You will have a great time tonight", the older lady said. "He's just alone and that's why he doesn't know how to speak to people. He is not as bad as you think."

"He basically kidnapped my dad and now I can't leave his home", I said quietly.

"When you get to know him you'll realize what a gentleman he is", the younger one said. She put the brush back in her apron and they both led me out, grabbing a candle from my nightstand.

We walked down the stairs, but this time the chandelier was off so the only light was the candlelight. They walked in a large door entry way and then there was a faint light inside another large door entry way. We walked toward the light, and soon we were in a large room that seemed to be a ballroom. At the end of the room sat a long table big enough for twenty people and behind many candles, sat the man, his hat still on. Right next to the table was a fire that illuminated the room even more, making it quite beautiful.

"Enjoy your dinner", the eldest lady said before they scurried away. With a sigh I walked over to the opposite end of the table and took a seat, avoiding any gaze.

"Why don't you sit next to me", he said calmly.

"No thank you."

I jumped when he slammed his fist on the table. "Come, sit next to me", he ordered.

I held back the tears stinging my eyes and obeyed, taking the seat right next to him. "Yes father", I said, though it didn't come out sarcastically as I planned.
