Anne's Powers
This a new story I am writing hope you'll like it. It's about a girl who finds a deep secret of herself that changes her life.
Anne woke up with a bright smile on her face. She was very happy because today was her 17th birthday. She went to the bathroom and took a bath and then picked up a pink floral dress to wear. She sat in front of the mirror and started brushing off her blonde curls. Then she applied a light lip gloss and looked at herself to check her outfit. It's cool thought. Then she went downstairs to meet her mother. She grabbed her bag from the living room and went to the kitchen to see her mother.
"Hey mom, good morning!" Greeted Anne.
Her mother was startled by her voice with a horrified look on her face and Anne noticed that the kettle on the shelf was shacking as if an earthquake had come.
Mrs. Thompson (Anne’s mother) hadn’t surprised Anne with her horrified because Anne was quite used to it. Her mother always gives her this kind of frightened look whenever Anne enters a place where her mother is alone as if her mother had been caught stealing a diamond necklace.
What was different today is that Anne saw the kettles shaking without any reason…..without a touch!
"Mom I said good morning! Are you alright." She said putting a hand on her mother’s forehead as if checking for fever.
"Ya….ya.. am alright. Good morning Anne and a very happy birthday to you."
"Thanks mom."Anne said and pulled her mother in a tight hug.
"So how’re you goin’to spend your day dear?"
"Um…nothing special mom. I was just thinking to call Rose over to my place and just have a small party with you and Rose."
Rose is Anne’s best friend. They’ve been good friends for quite a long time now. And they share pretty much everything.
"As you wish I won’t interrupt you today ok."
"Fine. Hey mom! Where’s my letter?"
"Letter?’’
"Yes. Grandma sends me a letter on each birthday of mine. Where is it?’’
"She seems to have forgotten this time….oo..old age…yo..you know." Her mom said as if she was hiding something.
"Mom she never forgets my birthday no! I guess something’s wrong with you today. By the way am leaving for school and remember I want that letter by the time you come back ok."
With that Anne walked out of her house and closed the door behind her.
Anne stepped inside her black Lamborghini and drove towards her school.
