Anne's Powers - Chapters 24 and 25

Chapter 24
The headmistress followed by other teachers reached the room where they had left Anne and found it to be empty.
"Oh my god!" The headmistress gasped.
"What’s wrong?" Asked Miss. Shelton.
"Anne’s not here."
"Maybe she’s in some other room."
"NO! I know she was here… she's…" Suddenly the headmistress saw a bracelet lying over the floor. She instantly recognized that it was Anne’s. She picked it up and closed her eyes and murmured a spell under breath. Then she opened her eyes with a shock.
"What happened? What did you see?" Asked Miss. Ruby.
"Anne is trapped! She’s been caught up in the barren land… the land where the dark magic rules… I told her not to make such a silly mistake but she…!"
"What to do now?"
"Hmm! I think it's time when Violetta fights her battle we cannot do anything now!"
"What are you talking about? I am sorry to say but you really disappointed me by saying this you really did! We can’t just…"
"We have to!" The headmistress cut her off.
"Ahh!! But why?"
"We can’t afford to lose all the fairies in this battle and you know that we can’t fight them they’ve grown way too powerful and if it's destined Violetta will kill them."
"But that’s when she becomes Violetta but she hasn’t got her avatar yet! She isn’t fully trained!"
"If it's destined it will happen otherwise we can all be sorry that’s all we can do."
"How can you be so cold-hearted?"
"Time freezes everything!"
The headmistress walked out of the room. Everyone just stared in the air knowing that the end is near.

Anne’s eyes opened up. She stared all around and all that she could see was a snow desert stretching miles away. Anne tried to stand up but she was too weak to do so. That’s when she sensed the danger, she realized how much trouble she has got herself into? Anne let out a sigh and then took a deep breath again and tried to stand up and she did but she felt too dizzy to stand firmly on the ground.
"Anne!"
Anne heard a voice (familiar) and doubted it was of someone she knew. Someone whom she trusted a lot and that’s when her heart sunk to ground zero, a lump was formed in her throat, she swallowed hard and turned to see the one person she wished wasn’t standing there… it was Gwen.
"Surprised?" Gwen said with one eyebrow raised. "Or should I say SURPRISE!"
Gwen let out a hefty laughter which cleared Anne’s every single doubt.
Anne’s eyes were filled with tears and she knew that this was they wanted to break her down physically and mentally.
"Surprised? No am not… know why cause my mother has always told me that ‘in this world you come all alone and you go all alone… and remember my girl there ain’t no friend so trustworthy as yourself’. Therefore, am not surprised but yes I would like to ask you a question that would seem very obvious at this moment why?" Anne looked Gwen straight in the eyes.

Chapter 25
The war has begun!

"Hmm… why?" Gwen let out a devilish grin. "I’ll be really happy to answer you this question but if we have enough time only then I’ll be able to complete it alright."
"I know you will." Anne answered her back.
"Alright so here how it goes… as I have already told you how I lost my mother and how I came here that had already made me a bit… I should say angry with all these fairies but that’s not the only reason I am here today… the reason is you! It was my mother who died and it was I who had suffered all the time and I came here to prove myself and get an opportunity to defeat the black fairies but what I find is a girl called Anne comes up and proves to be Violetta the so-called savior and takes away all the limelight and sympathy which I deserved. And you know what I end up being well… just nothing… a nobody!" Gwen snapped.
"Gwen I got you but why black magic… you should have let me know about this and I would have happily cleared you way and on top of it, I wasn’t the one who choose to be Violetta so why did you do this to me?"
"Who are you to clear my way huh? Or you wanted to say this just to fit your image of a heroine? Well, I was up for no more sympathy so I joined hands with the black fairies cuz they were the one's who understood my pain and promised me to give me something in return for something!"
"Something in return for something? And what is it?"
"Well we made a deal… and the deal was that if I gave them Violetta they’ll give me my own rule over the black fairies… enormous powers. Your choice or not you are Violetta and who can refuse a deal of a lifetime?"
"You know I pitied you for all you’ve went through in your life, but now I think the person like you deserved all that!"
"And you know what I pitied that I had to do all these things to you but now I think even you deserve this!"
"So now I’ll bid you goodbye cuz it's time for you to face the black fairies but don’t worry I’ll be there in front of you when your last words will be heard by the whole world."
Gwen passed a teasing smile at Anne and then disappeared slowly in the icy desert.
Anne stood there tears falling from her eyes. Though she didn’t want to cry but now she knew that this might be the last time she was crying.
Suddenly a storm came up. Anne tried to stand firmly on the ground but the storm was too strong and the whole sky turned into a shade of gray and only a little light was there which was just enough for Anne to see a dark fairy appearing in front of her laughing out loudly as if she is already victorious.
"Welcome to our land Violetta! Welcome to the dark land... welcome to the land of your end. So tell me how you’re gonna destroy me."
The dark fairy started walking in circles all around Anne. "Or are you gonna burn me up with all those powers of Violetta you possess… oops! I forgot you haven’t got your avatar yet so does that mean that right now you're even weaker than an ordinary fairy?"
"Yes! Maybe am weak, maybe it my end today but remember today it won’t only be my end… I accepted being a fairy just because I wanted to destroy you and believe me when I say I haven’t changed my mind." Anne looked at her challengingly.
"Innocent teen! I can only smile at you right now."
The dark fairy smiled and murmured a spell after which Anne’s hands were bounded by a magical rope.
"Are you so afraid of me that you decided to tie me up?" Anne asked.
"No am not but why should I kill you so easily."
The dark fairy closed her eyes, took a deep breath and said, "Illume Arodrei!"
And with that spell Anne was surrounded by fire from all the sides.
"Don’t think am too weak… Hydro spenta!" Anne said and she was able to unlight the fire around her.
"Clever girl!"
"Meanderoi hands!" Anne murmured another spell and this time it was the black fairy who fell to the ground.
Anne took advantage of the moment and ran away to the place where her grandmother was.
"Grandma!" Anne talked to her grandmom who was still in the cage.
"Am sorry grandma but I’ll free you I promise. I won’t disappoint you I promise!"
"Don’t make promises when you know you’ll fail to fulfill them." The dark fairy appeared once again and this time she wasn’t alone, Gwen was there too.
