Heche, 38, and Laffoon, 33, have been battling over some furniture that he says she removed from the Los Angeles home that they are currently sharing. While Heche is in town, a judge ordered that they alternate usage of the house and Laffoon cried foul when Heche removed a number of furniture and household items. Heche fired back claiming that the items, which included four pillows from Bali, pink bedding, the master bed, a footstool, and yoga-room rugs from the home, were purchased before their marriage. Heche also stated in court papers, "I intend to use them in my Vancouver residence. I do not intend to dispose of any of these items."
Heche claims that Laffoon has "not responded" to her about what items he wants from the house. She claims that she has been asking him "for months." Heche said, "Even without my furniture, the Las Palmas residence is fully furnished." Superior Court Judge Frederick C. Shaller judge ruled Tuesday that Heche may keep the items. He also ruled that until the house is sold or there is another court ruling Laffoon has "temporary exclusive use and occupancy of the residence." Another court date is set for August 15 and until then Heche may not remove any other items from the home.
Heche and Laffoon have been at each other’s throats since they split in February after six-years of marriage. The couple has a five-year old son, Homer. While Heche is filming her hit show Men In Trees in Canada Heche has custody of Homer every other weekend. When she is residing in Los Angeles, Homer’s primary residence per the courts, she will have custody every other week.
