Anne Heche & Hubby Split

Heche’s rep said in a statement on Wednesday that the couple "have decided to separate after five years of marriage. They have requested that they be allowed their privacy at this time." Heche and Laffoon were married in 2001 and have a four-year old son, Homer. No reason was given for the split, but it has been rumored that Heche, 37, is seeing her Men In Trees co-star, James Tupper. It was reported that Tupper left his wife in November. Reps for Heche and Tupper have not commented on the romance rumors.

Prior to her romance with Laffoon, Heche was romantically linked to comedian Ellen DeGeneres. The two began dating in 1997 and worked together on many film and television projects. Heche met cameraman Laffoon, 33, while filming a comedy special for DeGeneres. In August 2000, Heche and DeGeneres called it quits and shortly thereafter Heche began dating Laffoon.

In 2001, Heche released an autobiography called Call Me Crazy. In the book she claims to have been mentally ill for the first 31 years of her life. She blames her mental illness on the fact that her father, a Baptist minister, molested her as a child. Her father, Bruce, died of AIDS in 1983. Heche also claimed to be the daughter of Go and the half-sister of Jesus. She called her alter ego Celestia. Heche claims to have had contact with extraterrestrial life forms and reportedly spoke in her very own language. Since her book was published and she got married and became a mother, Heche has not said much about Celestia. She is currently starring on Men In Trees, which may or may not have led to the demise of her marriage.
