Anne Heche’s Divorce Gets Down and Dirty

It has been reported that Laffoon called Heche a "poor parent" with "bizarre and delusional behavior" in court on Thursday. Heche, 37, fired back saying that Laffoon "resorted to lies" in order to get more money from her. Laffoon is reportedly seeking primary custody of the couple’s five-year old son, Homer. He is also seeking $33,000 a month in support from his ex. Laffoon filed court papers on May 2 but they were released on Thursday.

Laffoon, 33, said in the documents, "Clearly, [Heche’s] anger towards me has clouded her ability to think rationally about what is in Homer’s best interest." He also said that he quit his job as a video photographer in order to be a stay-at-home dad and raise the couple’s son. Laffoon also said that Heche has very little to spend with their son due to her busy schedule filming her show Men in Trees in Vancouver. Heche claims her ex has lied to the courts because she "would not cave in to his astronomical money demands." He says she has exhibited "bizarre and delusional behavior" and "refuses to seek professional help."

Heche is currently involved with her Men in Trees co-star, James Tupper, 41. Tupper split from his wife last November while Heche and Laffoon split in February. Both Heche and Tupper have denied rumors that their onset romance broke up both of their marriages. They claim that they maintained a professional relationship until they were both separated. Prior to her marriage to Laffoon, Heche was involved with comedian Ellen DeGeneres. They broke up in 2000 and Heche married Laffoon in 2001. That same year she also published an autobiography, Call Me Crazy, in which she discussed her battles with mental illness.
