Ann Coulter Gives Awkward Interview with Matt Lauer
In an interview that aired moments ago, Ann Coulter and Matt Lauer sat awkwardly across from one another as Coulter described her new book and the ways in which the liberal media is destroying America.
The first few minutes of the interview involved Ann Coulter explaining reports that she had been banned from any future appearances on the Today show, following the cancellation of her scheduled appearance the day before. She claimed that without that article - which she did not write, but that was posted in the Drudge Report - she would not have been asked to appear this morning. Matt Lauer seemed to want to go back to the idea of Coulter being banned from the show and he repeatedly alluded to it as being ridiculous.
From there Coulter moved into her assault on the liberal media, pointing out that they never really questioned B. Hossein Obama - Coulter's favorite way of referring to the President-elect - and that they are not doing enough to report on the negatives of single motherhood. Coulter went on to explain that she believed that most societal ills can be traced back to the ongoing epidemic of single motherhood in the United States.
Throughout the course of the interview, Matt Lauer looked uncomfortable and the two combatants struggled to get their points across while still trying to allow the other an opportunity to speak. The timing and the chemistry were both horrible and the segment seemed to drag on much longer than it actually did. Coulter appeared on the today show to promote her new book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and their Assault on America.
