Angry Heartbreak

A poem about anger and heartbreak.
You think you're angry because of a possible betrayal
I know I'm angry, angry beyond words
An anger that consumes me
Within its flames
Burning with a white hot intensity
Emanating from the core of my being

My righteous anger based on your actual betrayal
Causes a soul wrenching pain
Of disappointment
That flows to the surface
In gigantic waves of crushing sadness

You may see my anger
And laugh
Thinking it unrighteous
But beneath the anger
Lies the heartbreaking pain of disappointment
That I don't know how to show
But it still burns within me causing my anger

Perhaps if you cared
To look into the windows of my soul
You would see my pain
And I would not be so angry
But you don't care
And I'd rather have my anger then feel my heartbreak.
