Angel's Challenge - Ch. 1: "Angelina"
This is when the Angels are introduced and explained some.
"Hey Riley," I said politely, "What is that?" I stood there pointing at this stomach clinching, orange pile of mushy stuff. I presume that it's cat vomit from Riley's cat, whose name is Puff.
"Well, that would be cat vomit," Riley answered calmly.
"Then clean it up. It's from your cat" I retorted.
"I will," Riley claimed offensively.
"Your ability is nature so why don't you talk to your cat. And tell her to go outside for such messes!" I said.
Since we are Angels, we each have unique abilities that vary. Riley's ability is nature so she is able to talk to animals like she would talk to a person. Riley is the only Angel whose ability is nature. I am the only Angel to have every ability that there is. I have figured out that this is due to being the chosen one. Since I'm supposed to lead the Angels in the war against Demons.
"Well, some animals are more stubborn than others," Riley replied.
"Whatever just clean it up." At that, I walked over and sat on my couch. I looked around the living room bored. The walls are rose pink, and the curtains at the window are a powder white. We have a country style, brick fire place at the wall facing me. The carpet is a dark red that has furniture sitting on it. All the furniture is powder white, to match the curtains, that went from casual chairs to couches. This room is decently huge and spacey.
"Where is the rest of the family at?" Riley asked, breaking me out of my trance.
"They are most likely out with friends or at work," I answered.
We have a large family. I am the oldest out of eight children including me. After me came the twins, Riley and Rachael. Next came the triplets, Teresa, Carolyn, and Kira. After them came Midgey and then AJ which is her nickname. Her actual name is Alice, and I don't know where AJ came from Alice. Our mother died giving birth to AJ and we all have different fathers. None of us actually know who our fathers are.
"Would you quit zoning out," Riley said interrupting my thought process again. I looked at her, focusing on her the first time today. She has silky, bleach blond hair. She is as tall as me which means that she's about five eight. I haven't had my height checked in a long time though. Her face gave a gentle vibe and her light blue eyes helped strengthen the gentleness to her. If she wanted to she could be a model. But most Angels could pass as a model. That is because our genetic make-up made us have a flawless physical structure.
"Sorry Riley. Today is a pretty tiring day," I explained with a slight yawn. I looked at the clock sitting on the wall to see it read ten o'clock.
Puff came over to me and jumped up on my lap. Puff is a fluffy, mid orange colored cat. Riley found Puff when Puff was a kitten. Puff came to Riley because Riley was eating Chester Cheetah Puffs. Puff wanted some to eat so Riley kept the cat and named her Puff.
"Puff, Angelina doesn't like it when you have leavings in the house. She wants you to make sure that if it comes up, make sure you're outside," Riley explained looking straight at Puff.
"Well, I try. The urge doesn't give me a five minute warning or anything. But at least I don't fumigate the air with perfume," Puff answered. Don't be startled because Riley and I only can hear Puff.
"Whatever. If you need me then I will be in my room sleeping. Wake me up when it's five in the morning so we can have a meeting," I said. At that I got up and headed to the wooden, dark oak stairs to the right of the room. All the people in my family have their bedrooms upstairs. I got to the second floor to see the white carpet and walls. All that I can think is that the walls needed to be painted, a color that was more exciting. I stop at the fourth door on the right and go in.
As I walk in, I get hit by the smell of lavender. It feels my lungs giving me a sweet, relaxed sensation. My walls are a lavender shade. My floor is a deep, dark violet. The bed has an arrangement of colors for the comforter. My dressers are made out of cherry wood that looked antique. As noticeable, my favorite color is purple and my favorite flower is lavender.
I walk over to my bed and sit down. I have a digital clock sitting on my night stand. Sadly my digital clock doesn't have an alarm. I lie on top of the covers due to the eighty degree weather and close my eyes. When Riley woke me up, there would be a meeting for all the Angels. In the meeting we will talk about our next faze of action. And to that, I drifted into a light sleep.
