It was rumored that Jolie, 33, underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive her newborn twins with her partner Brad Pitt. Jolie reportedly told the British tab Hello! that she did not receive any treatments. She said, "If they had been conceived through IVF, we would have been happy to discuss it. But we have been fortunate never to have had fertility problems."

Pitt, 44, and Jolie welcomed the twins –Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, on July 12 at approximately 6:27 p.m. They were born by Cesarean section and were born a minute apart. Knox weighed in at 5.03 pounds and Vivienne at 5 pounds. Jolie checked into the Foundation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France at the end of June to await the birth of the twins, which make the fifth and sixth children for her and her Pitt. The couple is already parents to Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh 2.

It was also recently rumored that the couple was paid $14 million for the right to the first photos of the twins. People magazine won the photo rights in a joint deal with Hello! and the two publications will split the bill. People released the photos of the twins Monday. In 2006, the publication paid $4 million for the rights to pictures of the couple’s first biological child, Shiloh. The money was donated to charities helping African children. The $14 million the couple received for pictures of the twins will also be donated to a charity created by Pitt and Jolie that helps children all over the world.
