Jolie arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday in preparation of adopting a boy from Vietnam and was able to pick up the boy name Pham Quang Sang on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. It has been reported that his name will be changed to Pax Thien Jolie. Pax means "peace" in Latin and Thien means "heaven" or "sky" in Vietnamese. Nguyen Van Trung, the orphanage’s director, said, "I was a bit worried in the morning. When Sang saw Jolie and two of her big bodyguards, he moved back and cried. Jolie kneeled down and gradually went closer to him. It took about 20 minutes for her to reach him." Trung added that "after Jolie made acquaintance with him, he cheered up and trusted her right away."

Jolie’s 5-year old son, Maddox, was with her and tried to soothe Sang when he was upset. Trung said, "It’s lucky to have the presence of her other son [Maddox] who was very friendly to Sang." Jolie is now required to meet with U.S. consular officials who will review the adoption before they are able to issue a passport for the boy. Jolie is reportedly hopeful to bring the boy home by the weekend.

Sang was abandoned in 2003 at a hospital and taken to the Tam Binh orphanage. The staff tried unsuccessfully to locate the boy’s parents and he has remained at the orphanage ever since. The boy will be the fourth child for Angelina Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt. They couple has Maddox who was adopted from Cambodia. Their 2-year old daughter, Zahara, was adopted from Ethiopia. And their 10-month old daughter was born to them in May 2006. Jolie and Pitt have been very vocal about wanting "lots of children" and would like to continue to add to their family.
