Angelic Wings
I wrote this when I was younger.
As my eyes fell upon her,
All other life ceased to exist.
She, so small in the world,
Stood out like a mountain in a valley far and wide.
Her eyes, deep as the sea, were as bright as the sun;
Her glowing face pierced even the darkness of space.
I let time, pass to see
If she might unfurl her angel wings
And fly off into the sunset
Where she will most surely touch the clouds
And sing.
All other life ceased to exist.
She, so small in the world,
Stood out like a mountain in a valley far and wide.
Her eyes, deep as the sea, were as bright as the sun;
Her glowing face pierced even the darkness of space.
I let time, pass to see
If she might unfurl her angel wings
And fly off into the sunset
Where she will most surely touch the clouds
And sing.
