Angel In The Night

As the darkness sets,
Enclosing me in wings,
A fallen angel looks at me,
With sorrow as she sings.

She sings of a land so pure,
So happy and care free,
She begins to walk across the room,
And tries to comfort me.

For my world is full of hate,
Anger and bitterness...
People tell me to get by,
For it is God's great test.

But how can a man so loving,
Cause so much hurt and pain?
There's nothing more to live for..
Nothing to lose or gain...

So now, the reader of these words,
I bid my short goodbye,
As I too grow my wings,
And join the angels in the sky.
