It has been reported that British police have decided not to pursue any action against singer Amy Winehouse in a witness tampering case.

Winehouse, 24, was "arrested by appointment" in December stemming from a witness tampering case involving her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and four others. The police confiscated the singer’s cell phone records, bank statements, and her computer software as well as interviewing her accountant. She was questioned by the police and was to face more questioning in March, but the police have decided that she was not involved in the plot. Her publicist released a statement that said, "Amy was released on police bail and was due to return to the police station, but will now no longer be required. Police have confirmed that she is no longer a suspect in the case after interviewing her in December. Amy is pleased to be discounted from the investigation and thanks the police for their professionalism in their dealings with her."
Fielder-Civil has been in jail since November on the charge that he allegedly attempted to pervert the course of justice. He allegedly tried to buy off a bartender he was accused of assaulting in June 2007. Fielder-Civil reportedly offered to pay the man $400,000 to withdraw his complaint. On Friday he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is set to appear in court in April and his trial is to begin in June.
Winehouse won five out of the six Grammy Awards she was up for in February. Her Grammys included best record, best song, and best new artist. Winehouse has also been making headlines for her drug and alcohol troubles. She reportedly spent a few weeks in rehab recently in an attempt to get a visa to appear at the Grammys. Her visa came through too late for her to make it to the U.S. for the show but she did perform via satellite. Lately there has been talk that she is back to her old ways and drinking and drugging again.
