Amy Winehouse's Husband Files for Divorce, Claims Amy Cheated
Blake Fielder-Civil has asked his attorney to file for divorce from his wife Amy Winehouse, claiming the singer has been unfaithful.
It was probably only a matter of time before the prison walls started to close in on Blake Fielder-Civil. While he is wasting away in an English prison, his wife Amy Winehouse has been photographed with other men and has most recently been spotted in the Caribbean - apparently on holiday with Josh Bowman. Blake's lawyer announced earlier today that he would be filing for divorce on behalf of his client and cited Amy's infidelity as the primary reason for the divorce.
Blake was sentenced to 27 months in prison following his conviction in the beating and attempted bribery of a bar manager in 2007. He was released into a drug treatment facility in November, but violated the terms of that conditional release and is now back in prison.
All of that on top of the fact that his wife is running around with other men, living the life of a rock star, probably got to the old boy. His advisers may have been quick to point out that Amy's doing very well for herself at the moment and that he would be wise to try to get a piece of her fortune before it starts to diminish. But love is complicated, so it's difficult to say where anyone's true intentions lie in such matters.
At least with a completed divorce, Blake will be free to explore new options upon his eventual release from prison. And Amy will no longer feel obligated to visit him in jail. After all is said and done, this may end up being a win-win result for Amy and Blake.
