Fielder-Civil, 25, was arrested by undercover police Thursday for allegedly trying to manipulate a witness in his upcoming trial for assault. Fielder-Civil and another man were due to appear in court on November 12 on charges of assaulting a barman last June. Four men were arrested in the investigation for allegedly plotting to pay a witness about $400,000 to alter their testimony. The police called it an attempt at "perverting the court of justice."
Police raided Winehouse’s home Thursday as part of the investigation. The other suspects were arrested at another location. The officers spent a few hours at Winehouse’s home and left with several boxes of evidence. It is not known whether or not Winehouse was involved in the scandal. A police rep reportedly said, "W wouldn’t like speculate on what the Mirror has reported but it clearly relates to the same case." Winehouse’s camp has not commented on the situation.
Winehouse, 24, and Fielder-Civil were married last May. Since then they have had numerous troubles with drugs and alcohol. They were arrested October 18 in Bergen, Norway on marijuana possession charges. They are planning to appeal the charges and claim that they did not know that paying the fines were equal to pleading guilty. Winehouse reportedly checked into the Causeway rehabilitation center in Essex, England. It was reported that she had suffered an overdose, but her rep said she was dealing with health issues. A few days later the couple was photographed battered and bloodied and rumors of domestic abuse began flying. Winehouse denied the rumors and has said that her husband has "saved her life." Whatever works…
