It has been rumored that the "Rehab" singer is actually in rehab even though she previously said no, no, no to rehab. Winehouse was rushed to the hospital on August 8 and treated for "exhaustion." Sources close to the singer say that drugs and alcohol were also involved. On August 8 her rep Tracey Miller said, "Amy was admitted to London’s University College London Hospital for exhaustion and she was told to rest." Winehouse cancelled two shows opening for the Rolling Stones this week and Miller announced Thursday that she was canceling all shows for the month of August.
Miller said, "Amy Winehouse is putting all her touring commitments for this month on hold until further notice in order to address her health issues. Amy will now not be performing at this weekend’s V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire [England]. Her family has requested that the media respect Amy’s privacy at this time. There will be no further comment." Winehouse, 23, has previously talked of her past eating disorders and cutting. A friend of Winehouse’s said she has a "low opinion of herself."
The singer who has labeled herself a "violent drunk" has had quite a year. She married her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, in May. It has been reported that both Winehouse and Fielder-Civil are battling addictions to heroin and cocaine. A source claims that they are both at a non-disclosed rehab facility in the United States. Last week Miller chalked up Winehouse’s problems to being "pulled in a million different directions." Miller said, "She’s done hundreds of shows and promotional appearances in the last year, often working 16 hour days. It’s bound to catch up with anybody." Yeah, that and all the drugs and alcohol…
