The gossip surrounding the official line up of the American Idol judges for 2012 just doesn't seem to fade away. Everybody has a new theory and new gossip. But what is the actual scenario? Who is in? Who is out? Who wanted to be in? We all know how much people look forward to every season of American Idol, don't we? Every year, there is an increase in the number of fans. All the participants suddenly become a part of our daily lives and conversation. This year, January 2012, we shall witness the 11th season of American Idol. And the official line up of the judges has (finally) been announced.

The Line Up of American Idol Judges for 2012 (Season 11)

The new panel of American Idol 2012 judges will not be different from last season. It has on board same old Randy Jackson, pop star Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Liner from Aerosmith. Amidst rumors and reports of J.Lo quitting as judge, and the hunt for another possible one, the final truth is that J.Lo is staying back. Given below is a little something about each of the judges. Get to know them a bit before the next season begins!

Randy Jackson
Randall Darius Jackson, known to us as Randy Jackson is a famous American singer, bassist, music manager, record producer, A&R executive, and also one of the most famous television personalities. He is also the executive producer of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. Randy has been in the music industry for almost 30 years, maybe a little more. As a producer, he has won a Grammy Award, which very few people know of. He is mostly popularly as an American Idol judge, and will continue with them this season too. Following are names of the artists Randy has recorded with, produced or toured with - Dionne Farris, Whitesnake, Whitney Houston, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Céline Dion, 'N SYNC, Stryper and Madonna.

Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lynn Lopez, nicknamed J.Lo, is an actress, singer, dancer, record producer, television producer, and also a fashion designer. According to Forbes, in Hollywood, she is also the richest personality of Latin American descent. A read of her biography tells us that she has to her credit approximately 25 movies, 6 television shows, 7 music albums, and 7 shows as producer or executive producer. She has sold a total of 25 million albums and was ranked by Billboard, the 27th Artist of the 2000-10 decade. She was much loved as a judge last season, let's hope it continues.

Steven Tyler
Stephen Victor Tallarico, known as 'Steven Tyler', will also return as one of the judges for the 11th season of Idol. He is an American songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and also the lead singer and frontman of the rock band Aerosmith. The band has released famous albums such as Rocks and Toys in the Attic. He is a rock icon with albums such as Get a Grip, Permanent Vacation and Pump to his credit. He was once an equally famous drug addict, but after being sent to rehab, he has now maintained being sober for more than 20 years. Also, Rolling Stones has included him in the list of 100 Greatest Singers. With Aerosmith, he was given entry to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. He has been a part of Aerosmith for almost 40 years.

Ryan Seacrest will be hosting this season of American Idol as well. And the wait is finally over for all those music hungry fans who've waited long for this season to premiere. It begins with a two-episode premiere on the 18th of January, 2012 and airs at 8 p.m. on FOX. So, make sure to tune in!
