American Idol Again Has Its Share of Drama with Bikini Girl

Bikini Girl, fully dressed this time around, still appears to have a chilly relationship with new judge Kara DioGuardi, though things were slightly more civil this time around.
The first time Katrina Darrell – aka "Bikini Girl" – showed up on American Idol, the show did not disappoint, as Darrell and new catty judge Kara DioGuardi mixed it up in a war of words. This time, Bikini Girl came on the show fully clothed and, before singing an a cappella version of "Breathe," by Faith Hill, was asked why she should be the next American Idol, answered simply – "I’m the next American Idol because…I am." Lucky for us, American Idol contestants don’t have to be all that smart to be good for the show, though in fairness to Darrell, it’s pretty clear that she understands that her own talents lie outside the intellectual realm.

DioGuardio did show off some personality this time through, referencing her former spat with Darrell when she said, "We had a fun time last time, didn’t we?" DioGuardi went on to say, "What can I say? You’re a beautiful girl. I have to tell you, when you started the song, you were better than your last audition. You had me thinking I was wrong – but actually, I think I was right! It went off at the end and got thin." Simon Cowell, before adding his two cents, made his version of "cat fight" clawing noises in the microphone. When Darrell noted that she would have sounded better with some backing music, Cowell replied, "I absolutely agree that, with music, it would have been a lot better. It was better than your first audition." Finally, before Darrell walked off the stage – after advancing – DioGuardi yelled at her, "Leave your number in the backroom. Bring your pole tomorrow!"

That wasn’t the only entertainment offered by the judges, however. At one point Paula Abdul – she of "stalkee" fame – argued with Cowell after Idol contestant Erika Wesley begged for a second chance. Abdul noted that she wanted Wesley to advance, but the other judges voted against her.
