American Comedians
Each has his own style, something special that they bring to the table. But no matter what, they are widely considered as the greatest comedians form America, in the present. Here are some of the funniest American comedians that had us in splits!

Great American Comic Artists
Woody Allen (1935 - )
"I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying."
Woody Allen is one of those exemplary comedians of our time who will never die and neither will his work. Woody Allen is as versatile as a human can get: being an actor, comedian, film director, musician, playwright and writer, all at the same time. Born Allen Steward Konigsberg, in the December of 1935, the man still continues to wow us with his inimitable wit and sense of timing.
Robin Williams (1951 - )
"Never pick a fight with an ugly person, they've got nothing to lose"
Robin Williams is one of the most highly acclaimed artistes to ever grace the stage of stand up comedy. An actor who could flit in to serious roles and funny roles almost as if he had two identities, Robin Williams was born on 21st July, 1951 in Chicago. His simple, very visual lines have made us laugh for years!
Steve Martin (1945 - )
"Don't have sex man. It leads to kissing and pretty soon you have to start talking to them."
Steve Martin was born in a city that probably describes him best-Waco-in 1945. Unusual, funny and often over the top, Steve Martin is another funnyman who has dabbled with both Hollywood and stand up comedy. Personally, I found his rendition of Inspector Clouseau the best! Another very versatile entertainer, who has also tried his hand at composing music as well as juggling!
Jay Leno (1950 - )
"According to New York publishers, Bill Clinton will get more money for his book than Hillary Clinton got for hers. Well, duh. At least his book has some sex in it!"
A lot of people of my generation have the words 'Jay Leno' follow every time someone says 'The Tonight Show'. Jay Leno was perhaps one of the most iconic and well loved host-cum-comedian of recent times, having hosted the Tonight Show for a good 17 years. Someone who found humor in something as drab as the daily news, Jay Leno created his own niche in comedy.
Jerry Seinfeld (1950 -)
"There's very little advice in men's magazines, because men don't think there's a lot they don't know. Women do. Women want to learn. Men think, "I know what I'm doing, just show me somebody naked."
Undoubtedly my favorite comedian, Jerry Seinfeld wowed the audiences with his show 'Seinfeld', despite it being about 'nothing'. The best exponent of situational comedy as far as I know, Seinfeld was adept at creating funny situations around himself and getting people to laugh!
Jeff Dunham (1962 - )
"Silence, I kill you!"
I was never a fan of the art of ventriloquism. Till I saw Jeff Dunham and his idiosyncratic puppets Achmed, Peanut and Walter of course! Jeff Dunham was born in Dallas, Texas and has been voted America's favorite comedian by Slate.com. Today Jeff Dunham is said to be the third highest paid American comedian!
So these were perhaps some of the greatest American comedians of all time. Grab a DVD of one of their shows and I assure you, it'll be a laugh riot!
